If you were a football coach, Is there a fan here who wouldn't play your fastest player (s) on a massive pitch like Wembley has?

Awoniyi and Elanga both have the pace to make the most of a huge pitch.

Agree4 Disagree0

The myth of pitch size.
105 meters by 70 meters (City ground)
105 meters by 68 meters (Wembley)
Give it a rest, we were beaten by a more experienced and wealthy side.

Yes, we have a big pitch too. Elanga loves it. It isn't a myth at all. Strange comment.

Don't know what other fans think, but I doubt it's a coincidence that when Awoniyi was fit, confident and in the side, our/ his performances at home kept us up the other season.

Pace and a large pitch definitely look like a match.

28 Apr 2025 18:58:18
And going by your first comment all pitches are "massive" ?.

28 Apr 2025 19:06:26
Often reading on here I'd love to see half the posters moaning about Nunos selections/ tactics do a better job. As I've said before, we're punching well above our weight with 9-13 good players, those players unfortunately aren't robots and need resting, especially our two wide speed merchants. Its no coincidence that wide players have hamstring issues. Explosive power=injuries.

All pitches aren't the same size.

Jesus its like banging my head on a brick wall.
Premier League pitch size rules dictate that pitches must be 105 meters long and 68 meters wide. yes you can have bigger but not smaller, Wembley is not massive! Its standard size and at the lower end. Yes it looks big because generally camera and stadium views are higher up as the stadium is big and has high tiered stands and unlike most of the older stadiums like the city it has a large run off area making the playing surface look larger.

Someone please throw me a bone here?.

**like the city ground**.

29 Apr 2025 12:04:58
To be fair the rules are between
90 to 120m x 45 to 90m
Fulham have the smallest at 100 x 65
Whoof Whoof
Man utd biggest at 105 x 68.

{Ed001's Note - for a short period they did try a standardised size in the Prem, but it didn't last.}

29 Apr 2025 12:49:56
I know forest had the biggest pitch size in 23 in premier but I'm sure we reduced the width this season to accommodate the extra rows of seats at the front of brian clough stand, but I could be wrong
It stood at 105m x 70m or thereabouts.

29 Apr 2025 15:01:22
Yeah i think it was Luton that kinda killed the standard sizes, but whoof whoof i know i'm right ? Wembley is relatively small so therefore the "Massive" pitch myth is bulls?.

29 Apr 2025 15:04:12
And thank you DTP and Ed. I think you both backed my point ??
As it goes the CG and Eitihad are the two biggest for the 24/ 25 season.

29 Apr 2025 23:22:34
And Ed001, this ones for you ?

"Details matter" ??.

{Ed001's Note - have I ever told you that you are smart Neagley?}
