That’s it guys release clause apparently triggered, when it is it comes down to loyalty of the player. Don’t be hard on the lad anyone would do the same. Spurs are going to be pretty good under TF I think.

Poor from Forest that one and naff for the fans.
No matter how much money you can or can’t spend players also have to want to come. No player already of that calibre will come to us. We will only get the ones who need to prove themselves all over again. That’s only works every now and again.
We will end up with a far less effective player and Man U will get most of it! In short there is no suitable replacement available to Forest.
Difficult season ahead.

I don't think it is just about bringing in one player to replace Elanga. It's a bigger picture issue (PSR, we need to strengthen in several positions)
They are building a team spirit of, in Marinacker's words about Nico's contract, ""Nottingham Forest is a club for ambitious players; people who want to grow with us on our exciting journey and create special memories. You think so MunMad? Check the impact Elanga had last season, who is replacing that? Let’s hope we find another gem or someone looks to rebuild their career as without the goals and assists of elanga we will struggle to finish mid table.

I’ve no complaints over the commercials of the deal - that’s one thing we do excel at these days. I doubt we will replace him with one player still be sosa and Jota mark 2. We have little chance of signing a player of that calibre, reports (claim) the player hasn’t pushed for the move either. Personally I’d have kept elanga rather than sign 3 Sosa’s. We could have tried to offload Sangare who’s done zilch and kept Elanga - once we’ve paid Utd we’d have been in the same position but kept a player who was the difference for us last year. Never mind.

Yeah 2Stars, we could have sold a player who wants to stay and kept one who wants to leave. That would be good for the team.
We got Milenkovic. We got Igor Jesus. We can and do attract good players. You never know, we could bring in players who givce us more flexibility and have a good season.

One quick observation from me yesterday.
The club and the fans seemed more intent on barracking Gary Neville and Anthony Taylor.
Had Taylor been appointed before we barred Neville or is that a retaliation from the football hierarchy?
When you engage in this puerile war of words there is only one winner, humans are humans and sub conscious bias will kick in and decisions will go against you - the football hierarchy won’t agree with us barring Neville.
Refs are human beings the level of barracking will subconsciously make Taylor favour the opponent- it’s Jsut how the human mind works I’m afraid.

Good post Gold mate and we lost through no real crucial decision or fault by Taylor, incompetent though he usually is. You are right about unconscious bias. It’s why Rugby players never argue with the ref and usually call him Sir. Football could learn a lot from other sports.
Of course, Cloughie was ahead of the game and ordered his players never to argue with refs. You can’t control the crowd though ………I remember years ago our lot singing ribald songs about David and Victoria Beckhams alledged sexual peccadillos. He replied by dismantling us and Man U beating us 8 1 …….

I get the frustration, I really do and I agree it’s not an easy watch most of the time.
But championship no hopers to 7th in the premeier league (2nd for a part of the season) with a fairly small squad with average talent is a great achievement in my opinion.

Cracking post mate. I share your view. Drama seems to follow us around like a black dog, sometimes it washes over you. Sometimes it’s troubling, I agree completely that the risk of it happening seems reasonably obvious doesn’t it. For all we know though Forest may have been trying to get MGW to sign a new contract for months. I personally would have refused to see AE is that has made the dominos fall I think.

I agree Daz but I think when the dust settles you realise that it’s always likely we will lose our top performers. I’m kind of comfortable with that but disappointed that (unless something big is going to happen) that we didn’t see it coming. Either on here or somewhere else I read that essentially agents have made this happen to get a pay out, very true and I think the club should really have seen this coming this summer, let’s hope they learn from it and we don’t pay a big price as currently, I feel we are scrambling around now.
