Very interesting Ed and a good read.
I gave to entirely agree with your take on the Liverpool V Forest game.
I rewatched the game entirely yesterday in a calm analytical frame of mindnow the emotion has dissipated.
Virgil, McCalister, Isak and Konate particularly looked unfit and ponderous. Gravenburg and Salah did well and looked dangerous on the ball but the rest looked one paced and disinterested.
Forest looked completely comfortable out of possession and, as you say, picked Liverpool off on the counter. There were 2 phases of play in the second half which summed up Dyche ball and its effectiveness.
One was when Liverpool had the ball for a chunk of time, around 5 or 6 minutes continuous ly when Forest sat off and didn’t touch it at all. They went from side to side, left to right and back again laterally and finished eventually with a shot from Slobesli from 35 along the ground which Sels had all day to fall on.

I know our goalkeeper hasn’t been in Golden Gloves form recently but even I could have saved it. A shot born of frustration….
The second point was when, for a couple of minutes, again 2nd half, when the game opened up and became more end to end. Dyche was out bellowing furiously to get back into formation and screw this adventurous toe to toe slugging stuff. It was indicative of his pragmatic approach. If it’s working, don’t change it.
Slot looked absolutely lost and bereft of ideas when the 3rd went in. I’m sure, Ed, he will sort it. He’s not become a bad coach overnight and with Liverpools resources and reputation new blood will arrive, particularly defensively in January ( hopefully not Murillo or Malenkovic)

{Ed001's Note - thank you, and I like your analysis, very interesting stuff. I have to disagree on Slot, I am not sure he is capable of turning it around because he has picked out the wrong lessons from last season. And he has still not accepted that physicality is a massive part of things in the Prem.}

Seems to me that Slot has been found out ED, won't change his system no matter what, similar to Ange, Amorin and the Barcelona boss last night. These type of managers who are inflexible will all get sussed over time.
But as Stokey said great write up mate and it's actually refreshing reading it from an opponents point of view.

I hate having to read match assessments from the main stream media, always focus on the mistakes from the bigger sides and never give credit where its due. ?.

{Ed001's Note - I think Slot has changed too much, he has moved away from the style he used in the Eredivisie.}

Surely Liverpool, Forest and the majority of clubs would have had that discussion with the potential Manager, regarding tactics, and their approach to certain situations/ Scenarios and a "Plan B" should they arise?
Just saying folks.

Just a question Fred
How do you feel Dyche is doing?
A good fit?
Nuno dug his own grave, and that's gone.
