Fawaz to meet Hobbs again to discuss personal terms BEFORE he signs for anyone else, he does not want to go anywhere else, never has!

1.) 28 Jan 2014
Dont get me wrong I would love this to be true but I just can't see it
Kev

2.) 28 Jan 2014
I echo what Kev has wrote. would love it to be true!

3.) 28 Jan 2014
If Hobbs goes he goes we will move on but I also have to say will be very interested to see if he does to see how much for and see what we were unwilling to pay!

4.) 28 Jan 2014
28 Jan 2014 15:02:40
Hope this is true and I hope our beloved chairman puts pen to paper Coyr, s

5.) 28 Jan 2014
And you know this from where, are you a friend of Fawaz or Hobbs?

If Hobbs wanted to come to Forest, he wouldn't go around talking to 2-3 other clubs, and if he is, and it's all about money, then there is no need for him to talk to Fawaz. I know money talks, but for me and hopefully a lot of the players; One heart, one club, Nottingham Forest forever!
Or for some; Nottingham Forest to the next pay check!

Forest Dane

6.) 28 Jan 2014
Well he better get moving then

7.) 28 Jan 2014
With the amount of Abuse Fawaz gets on Twitter. its a wonder he gets us any players. can't believe what I read. jeeez some folk

8.) 28 Jan 2014
Shocking, without a doubt, we'd be battling relegation in league 1 by now without him! Doughty left and we were forced to sell chambers, Gunter and mccleary not so long back to attempt self sufficiency which would have failed almost immediately as the club loses a million a month. Short memories these clowns have!

9.) 28 Jan 2014
In all of this, BD & FAH will have made a decision on how much they think the player is worth, both in outlay and in wages.
It may be he case that some of these other clubs are prepared to pay well over the odds, in which case I would have to agree with BD & FAH not to pay silly money.
Whatever happens, all sorts of people will claim to be "in the know" about all sorts of things. However, the truth will be that none of us will ever know the truth about it!

10.) 28 Jan 2014
To Forest Dane
What you don't realise is These are pro Footballers they Play the game for money not love.
We as supporters have one club we love for life.
He will need to talk to as many clubs as possible to get the best deal he can

11.) 28 Jan 2014
I think a lot of fans will never feel secure until Forest are in the cushy surroundings of the Prem. Impatience is what's causing these outbursts on twitter and too many comparing Fawaz with the old Marthur regime and system.
I would love to see Hobbs sign but something isn't right. For a start you do not recall an injured player as cover for an injured player. Hull know what they are doing - trying to get the best price and deal possible for THEIR player. I am sure his interests are also in their thoughts.
If we really offered near on £1m for Hobbs then I would expect other clubs to at least improve on that sum.

12.) 28 Jan 2014
Above post: "but for me and hopefully a lot of the players; One heart, one club, Nottingham Forest forever!"

I bet you there's not one player (poss Cohen?) who thinks like that mate, end of the day they are professional footballers, who get paid for the job, not fans who only have one club all their lives.

13.) 28 Jan 2014
I think not Hull are just trying to recoup any money he's out of contract soon. its stated in plenty of articles that its not Hull its Hobbs,
he will end up at the scousers irony really cause he was there anyway!

Ed on another subject paper down here reporting that Wolves in for pompeys Jed Wallace he plays in Sako's position do you think that's one that may be happening?

14.) 28 Jan 2014
Of course Fawaz is going to have a final discussion with Hobbs who will put his cards on the table for Fawaz to decide whether he wants to trump the hand and keep him.

Our problem could be Fester as we wiill be behind the pay scales of Wigan, Reading and Fester if they have all actually offered terms.

Incentivising his salary on promotion may see off the first two as we are better placed. But with Fester he can have his jam today and cake next season as they look nailed on to go up!
Squeaky bum time?

15.) 28 Jan 2014
What you have to remember is that the agent is contacted first and the agent also does the work in setting the deals up. He will then say to Hobbs " I have a few enquiries for you which I think you should listen to". The agent will inevitably push for the best deal and hopefully its the one Hobbs really wants. Still plenty of time, PATIENCE is the word.

16.) 28 Jan 2014
I know, I just hope that some of them have their heart in this.
Forest Dane

17.) 28 Jan 2014
Hi ed do you know if fawaz looks at your great site, has he ever said

{Ed034's Note - wouldn't have a clue as I have never spoken to him, but I would imagine no

18.) 28 Jan 2014
28 Jan 2014 15:55:21
Steve Chettle was possibly the last one player one club - I fine fine player at that

19.) 28 Jan 2014
Have heard that Hobbs and his agent were asking for £22K a week and that is why the deal fell through on Personal terms.

Whilst he has made a great contribution to the team wages like that are Premiership and if we don't get up could come back to bite us next season.

Think it is time to move on and let someone else pay the Crazy money

20.) 28 Jan 2014
If we start paying him more than the rest of the players, then the likes of Reid, Lansbury etc will be demanding higher wages. Any of our targets have to fit into our wage structure, otherwise it will have a knock on effect on the rest of the squad. I can't blame Fawaz or Billy for not budging on this.

21.) 28 Jan 2014
I always thought Hull accepted our Bid. if so its surely up to Hobbs and his personal terms, we would have 3 very good centre backs if he came, which one sits out. was jack told it was him. no one knows but we will keep trying to find the answer. thought Ed' might help. no chance

22.) 28 Jan 2014
Plenty of wise words and counsel on this thread. Complete departure from some of the comments on Twitter. This site obviously attracts a more sophisticated crowd ;)

23.) 28 Jan 2014
"If Hobbs wanted to come to Forest, he wouldn't go around talking to 2-3 other clubs, and if he is, and it's all about money, then there is no need for him to talk to Fawaz. I know money talks, but for me and hopefully a lot of the players; One heart, one club, Nottingham Forest forever!"

Totally idealistic and ridiculous, sorry. No footballer thinks like this, including Chris Cohen! If Cohen was presented with the opportunity to play Premier League football, and/or take a big pay rise, he'd be out the door just as quick as the last guy. Football careers are short, and players have the right to try and earn the best living they can.

I'd love Hobbs to end up back at Forest in a few days but i'm not feeling optimistic. If he agrees to terms with Leicester it really will be sickening. Unless his wage demands are totally ridiculous, I feel we're making a big mistake here. Shouldn't be letting players like this slip through our fingers if we're serious about challenging for top 2 this year.

28 Jan 2014 16:53:13
Well looks like the bird site abusers have achieved one thing, Fawaz is keeping silent now and we have no idea on wats happening regarding regarding transfers we don't even know if rafik deal is complete or what others targets we now chasing. all a guessing game again now

25.) 28 Jan 2014
This gets boring now, roll on end of transfer window and concentrate on what we have, then the team can settle again and the fans.

26.) 28 Jan 2014
Someone wake me up the morning after the transfer window closes please! Arrrggggghhh!

27.) 28 Jan 2014
What will be will be, and I am sure as much as other supporters we are all nail biting as to what will unfold, we all want the best players at our beloved club, but sometimes this will not happen, so we need to get behind our club and sing the roof off the place thursday night. fawaz and co are doing us proud if you can't see that then you are blind. best group of players we have had for years. not long a go are best players would of walked for nowt, at least we are now offering good contracts to keep the assets we have, sometimes this will not be enough for some players but we will all carry on supporting are great club. so come on cheer the boys home, are noise can and will earn us points what you say.

28.) 28 Jan 2014
Source in just tweeted. Djebbour deal done after lengthy discussion. Well done Fawaz!

29.) 28 Jan 2014
Would love this to be true. let's go get him at any price

30.) 28 Jan 2014
Game of poker. Forest want Hobbs, Hobbs wants Forest, Hull want rid with a few quid. The last week has all been about Hull and Hobbs turning the screw on us to get more money and Forest holding their line. I think we'll all end up with what we want and Hobbs will be in Forest shirt come Friday night. All 3 parties will compromise to make it happen.

31.) 28 Jan 2014
It's just down to hobbs not hull they've accepted our offer

32.) 28 Jan 2014
Hull may accept a lower bid in order to get him off the wage bill. They can hold out for more from another club but if Hobbs doesn't want to go there, they run the risk of being saddled with his wages for the rest of the season. The money we save allows us to get closer to what Hobbs wants ( but not meeting his full demands). Every compromises and the deal happens. Fawaz negotiates hard!

33.) 28 Jan 2014
If he signed for forest ed I doubt he would be driving round in a ford focus, if he loves it at our place he would not talk to other clubst the cash he was offerd would be good enough

34.) 28 Jan 2014
Let's face it. Would you rather earn £1m a year and live in Wigan or £0.9m and live in Nottingham with fans who adore you? I know what I'd choose!

35.) 28 Jan 2014
The latter 0.9m and be loved knowing he loves the club he plays for

36.) 29 Jan 2014
To Mr Jack Hobbs- I hope you can understand the Situation u r in being a Footballer and a good one too!- that if u feel comfortable with the team your with- -the players who u play with- the manager who u play for-and the fans who think the world of you- for what the team has done to develop together - I think its a no brainer, money aside its Nottingham Forest!- follow your heart not the wallet. - life is too short the possibilities are endless here at Forest.
Come on home Mr Hobbs
