Report from the Telegraph says CooperMan stays according to the NEP after high level meeting. If it's true its a good sensible and pragmatic decision.
SC is on a learning curve as much as the squad. He's shown he's prepared to adapt his preferred formation v Leicester ( though it didn't work out obviously) . So, to continue my flying an airliner analogy, through no fault of his own, he's fixing a plane together whilst learning to fly it with a new untrained crew aboard. Plus now he's doing an Himmelman turn to avoid being shot down! Let's give the man a break and our full support! Coyr!

Stokey explain the shambles and total disorganisation against Leicester and explain why Lodi is picked. Explain the treatment of surridge, obrien and toffolo. Straight forward questions. Sick of people like 79 running me down with answers that are nothing like or to do with my posts. The club has been a shambles under marinakis and his latest appointment reflects this. I love the club have done for 45 years but it’s disgusting the way money and greed totally dominate now. Keeping cooper is only because bigM has backed off from the fans backlash. Cooper has not really grasped it so far and I doubt he ever will

We all read and fully understand your posts, they are all negative and always have been, basically no matter the manager or coach at forest you say the way we play is turgid, a word you use frequently.
You want marinakis out, but who would buy a club that owns nothing.
I've seen far worst at forest in my 58 years.
Marinakis is actually the best owner we've had by trying to at least achieve some success while paying the bills on time and not expecting to see his money again, unlike the rest who only gave loans to the club and tried to run us as a business while selling our best players and ending in league one.
Like I've said before be careful what you wish for.
Remember the crook that is Irving scholar and his tenure in charge and the diabolical way fawaz tried to run the club?
Doughty had a five year plan and it never ever materialised and was a constant struggle on the pitch other than Paul Hart for one season only to be stabbed in the back the next
Followed by one season under Billy and same happened again.
In the five year marinakis has been here he's improved the academy and got us to a higher standard in that department and that is starting to get some results but that's not an overnight thing it takes time.
Just saying.

I agree to a large extent with both of you Rutland and FF. As far as SC s team selection is concerned I too would, with the benefit of hindsight, have picked Toffolo over Lodi and Aurier over Williams and wouldn’t have persisted with the Lingard experiment for example. However I can only say in SC s defence that he’s never managed in the Prem before and it was naive to think that his attacking style wouldn’t make the team vulnerable at this level. But it’s a case of suck it and see ( if I may be forgiven for using that unfortunate phrase) . Perhaps I should have said we live and learn. But it’s a crash course for him (and most of his squad ) and we see him now changing his methods and being more pragmatic hopefully. Sadly it’s the experience of life that replaces ones idealism with realism. We certainly don’t want another managerial roundabout for 23 years.
I fully agree that Marinakos, for all his faults, is the best owner we’ve had since the days when Forest were run by a commitee, with the exception of the people who appointed and stuck by Cloughie for 18 mostly glorious years.
I’ll repeat I’d keep Cooper even if we are relegated. Otherwise we are just treating the symptoms not the causes of our long term demise.

Stokey I detest the way marinakis and his goons have behaved. Being rich does not guarantee respect and his goons have-lathered the club with dross through this tenure. I do respect the fact he bought us and has apparently cleared the debts. But had he stuck with O’Neil we would be on a better footing but that’s history. 79 I post a lot and it’s not all negative just the truth and you have changed your tune several times so it’s a bit of give and take. Coopers not beyond critiscm in fact he has invited it

Rutland, as far as Mr M is concerned there are better owners and there are worse ones, far worse mate. Sometimes you just have to sit down and sup with the devil to ensure survival. I mean we could have Mad Mel or Ashley!

Stoke Ashley changed Newcastle for the better, ran the club like a business whilst retaining prem status. Ppl might hate him but he deserves credit. MrM is the polar opposite. What Newcastle now have is akin to moral bankruptcy

Try telling that to Newcastle fans.

Gents, a fascinating thread. You all have great points but please remember, we all want what's best for our club.
Personally I will give Coops all the time in the world but I want to see improvement. West Ham, Everton and Spurs, I have been generally happy. Since then, have we not gone backwards? If there is interference, I'm fuming. Lodi and Linguard seem an issue. Based on the Leicester game, Colback (remember him) would've been a better bet than Kouyate? Trouble is we have all of these experts telling us who's KPI's are the best but if you don't perform on the day, then what? Cooper stated his team didn't perform in the first half against Fester (no rubbish Sherlock) but it was HIS team. 2nd half, yes we improved but Fester also backed off, IMO.
We are at a massive crossroads and I'm not convinced (yet?) that Coops can turn it around. Show me progress, cohesion, fight and passion and I'll start to believe.
