Amidst all the transfer speculation and the probable departure of one of our big guns I began thinking of transfers, both in and out, which had had the most effect on me. Many sprang to mind over the 70 years but I wondered what deals had caused the most excitement among my fellow Red fanatics. My choice Trevor Francis (In) and Teddy Sheringham (out) . Deals showing the best and worst of BC. Other opinions would be fun.

Redinexile is back?
Cloughie hastily let some good players go. Asa hartford, stan bowles, john sheridan, justin fashinu, gary megson. Some it was attitude and some on closer inspection he just did not rate. The one that puzzles and probably confirmed his and our demise was sherringham. Bought for relative peanuts from millwal should have gone on to be a forest legend.

Collymore for me, one of the best forwards we have ever had, broke my heart when he went to the Puddle!

Francis in, and Ian Moore out the 2most memorable ones for me.

Shilton, for me.

Joe Baker and John Barnwell for me, Baker in particular.

Peter Cormack in. Was only 8 or 9 and been impressed with Marinello going to Arsenal but never thought we'd get anybody similar.

Eugene Daddi, what a player.

Moore, woodcock, withe, birtles, cormack, baker, sherringham, all great strikers for us but collymore was a standout purely for the fact you could hoof the ball forward and he could and did win games for us on his own.
Ian moore my second favourite, was never a fan of francis, all the above served us better.

Chris O Grady for me lads - no competition!

Great response to my previous post and many names that carry huge memories. Apart from the magical Clough/Taylor era the two events that remain large in my Good and Bad files.Good. Standing at Bramall Lane watching Doug Lishman score a hat-trick to clinch promotion to Div 1 in 1957 and Bad. the terrible decision to sell Kevin Campbell this breaking up the best strike pairing in the country and resulting in the dreadful behaviour of Van Hoojidonk in withdrawing his labour. I haven't even mentioned winning the Cup in 1959!!! Great memories as a Red supporter.
