Forest accepted the Osborn deal after some of the add-ons in the initial offer were amended. Presumably Sheff Utd agreed to a higher sell on fee percentage.

Agree4 Disagree0

Is that you LC?

Why would that make the difference? Seems very strange. A higher bid being accepted would be understandable. Something else must have led to them accepting what is basically the same bid?!

26 Jul 2019 10:46:20
Of course add-ons make a difference.

May be that we get extra fees for the amount of games he plays next season, whether they stay up or not, or could just be an extra few percent on the sell-on fee.

Either way, it is an improved offer and not the same bid.

"Not significantly raised their valuation of the player" so barely any improvement.

26 Jul 2019 11:33:05
A bit like Ben then TWF. Barely any improvement.

Got mucked about by being played out of position at left back. Be interesting to see where Chris Wilder plays him. Or how Forest fare without him.

26 Jul 2019 13:10:01
Wilder likes players who are able to play in different positions. That's why he's signed Osborn.

26 Jul 2019 13:32:17
"more money up front and an improvement to potential future sell-on clauses"

So clearly an improvement.

26 Jul 2019 13:49:34
Judging by Wilders interview of Osborn, he will be used all over the pitch, very much like at forest.

Undislosed amount on the Osborne sale so all the amounts being shouted about are pure speculation but if the local rag is to believed we turned down 3m but more likely to be arounf 3.5m to 4m but even they don't know definitely or ever will. But if that is correct then not a bad price for someone with 11 months left on his contract. Good luck to him for wanting to play in the Premiership.

Company accounts will have to show it if it's of major interest, but the lad was going nowhere at forest and to be honest don't think he'll ever be a prem player.
Sheff utd are doing the right thing in getting proven championship players together for their season in the prem knowing full well if it ends in failure they have a squad capable of going straight back up.
Burnley did this and it brings stability to a club financially.

Who cares? The money received is only as good as the new player coming in!

If it's Bostock then we will have a stronger line-up with him than lightweight Benny O.

People have very short memories. It was under the Breadman that our featherweight midfield of Osborn, Vaughan and McKay kept getting steamrollered.

These days you have be exceptionally gifted and quick of feet and mind to compete if you are small which is where Benny falls short!

When was the last time you saw bostock play?
Your talking something similar 😁🤣🤣🤣.
