The Club will Appeal against this. The way Fawaz kept the books there are bound to be mistakes and misunderstandings, so an Independent Adviser will come in and sort it out. I suppose if necessary Mr. M will pay the debt off himself somehow.

This is English law not Greece,
There is a difference,just pay it and move on,instead of dragging the good name our club through the courts.

It looks like Fawaz's lawyers did a better job of mitigating the risks of mistakes on the agreed contract.

Forest sued Fawaz originally for understating the losses and Fawaz counter sued disputing the contract terms for presumably the equivalent amount.
Given the sums involved it will no doubt go the Appeal to get clarification on interpretation of the contract clauses so we must wait for the Fat Lady to sing before making blame judgements?

All very strange. As legally for the take over all requested funds would have to be deposited, like in a house sale, before transaction completed. Sounds like negligence from both parties is the issue and the sort of incompetence that has dogged our club for years. I really hope this is resolved quickly as with marikinakis being charged with more serious issues in Greece are we going to have our eye off the ball going into the most significant summer in the clubs recent history... the vultures, as in th FA will be watching and scrutinising!
