If Elanga is to sign for Newcastle then we should demand Lewis Miles plus 35m for him
Miley plays in a different position would be a great addition to our attacking midfield imo and bring in Yilmas as a direct replacement for Elanga.

Evening Gents, I hope you're all well. As I posted some time ago I think selling Elanga would be a massive mistake. Thankfully, Forest is no longer a 'selling club'. Why should we let go IMO the best winger we've had since Robertson? Many of you will have experienced live, as I have, the excitement/ roar-factor this guy creates in the terraces when he gets the ball and attacks. Not to mention the fear-factor Elanga creates in opposition defences. We'd be mad to let him go.

We won't choose to let him go. He's too good for that and it would be a massive stroke of genius or luck to replace with cheaper.
It will be a decision solely based on finance.

I understand what you mean legolas, but if the lad wants to go and the money is right there's no point in keeping him. We have to have a squad that's totally focused on forest if we're going to get something from next season. Anyway he's not that brilliant, he can't take corners his crosses can be questionable and he goes missing on occasions. No good luck to the lad if anyone can Eddie Howe can. thank him for his goal against Chelsea man utd and of course city. there are other elangas out there.

If I remember, on this site. Last autumn he was being berated. Many were calling for Jota to replace him. In November at home to Ipswich he was replaced. Jota won the penalty that got us the one nil win.
A few weeks later he came on as a sub v Villa and scored the winner and never looked back.
Last summer there was a lot of speculation about him going to Newcastle and I don't know if that contributed to his slow start to last season.
Let's hope this doesn't happen again!.

Elanga reminds me of Franz Carr, fast exciting winger, but a lot of the time the end product wasn't there!, as Clough said about him "He's the best corner flag hitter we have! ".

Elanga will unfortunately leave but can Forest get an equivalent replacement?
Goes to show that contract's are meaningless if a player has signed until a certain date/ year. ?.

That's the way things are, been happening for a while now. Loyalty comes at a price. just look how little it took for city to influence MGW it will be interesting to see how he gets over it, mind you he still might get his move yet. More likely London though. I believe this season is going to be make or break for us. we have to have a flying start and keep the teams head's up.

There's been no loyalty in football for 30 odd years, wether it's from players or owners, ask Dennis, omabamidele, obrien, sosa?
It's a two way thing
We sign players and sell players, so why expect loyalty?

It's a shame Greed and not being able to fulfil a contract has been a contributing factor in football.
It's the agents of player's who are also driven by financial gain who get into the weak brain's of their clients.
If contracts are not binding no point of having one.
It's basically a meat market.

Yes but players are also signed and then not wanted and when the sit in the bomb squad doing nothing and seeing out that contract they are called greedy
Coaches are the same, Ange won a trophy at spurs and still got sacked although under contract
That's football and been like it for a very long time.

I hear what you're saying RV and Mossy - Elanga is certainly far from perfect. I just feel, however, that this guy has something about him that Forest hasn't seen for a very long time. OK his final ball sometimes isn't great and I agree he should not be taking corners or free kicks! However, his blistering pace, close ball control, accurate assists and deadly finishing have been plain to see - when the guy's head is in the right place. Let's remember Elanga is only 23 years old and yet is already a Swedish International. Howe is a very savvy Manager and a good talent-spotter - if he fancies Elanga that makes me want to keep the player even more! I think if we can keep hold of him, and with Nuno's coaching/ psychology, Elanga will literally become a world class player within the next 2 years.

Good point legolas, there's no doubt elanga has the potential to be top notch just not sure we have the luxury of waiting for that to happen. i think that 60 mil might be too much for Newcastle but you never know. i'd like to see elanga take a long look at CHO perhaps not a quick as elanga but has a finish.

There's been a lot of loyalty in football to teams. Just got to sift through them. Dtp why do you look to go at players who didn't get game time? Look at cpl of yours that were obviously bought on strength of forest going down. You know it.
