Occasionally Nuno makes tactical mistakes. Unfortunately he did so V City. It can't be helped that we did not have our two fast full backs on, or Yatesy to make the midfield stable - Danilo can't do that job, and Sangare looked much better when he came on. From all their crosses it was obvious that Morato should have played from the start, and we needed Elanga and CHO to stretch them up top. I dare say he'll learn from his errors just like the players do.
I also think the players weren't quite sure what Nuno wanted either, and they didn't quite know how to handle City's game plan. After 20 minutes Nuno could have done something but he didn't.
We just have to accept that the lads did what they could in the circumstances and had MGW scored it would have been a very different game.
Sosa looks like a flop, and Chris Wood got no service at all - too many players were thrust back into defence in the first half.
We've had a good run and got winnable games to come, so I'm happy to see where we go from here. I think maybe the back room boys let Nuno down a bit, but football is a funny old game.
Whatever happens the lads have been done very well.

Very good appraisal mate.

It’s a difficult decision BSE. As they say, with hindsight you get 20/ 20 vision. I hadnt realised that young Eric de Moreira was injured as that would have been a straight like for like swap.
I’d certainly have put Elanga in, with CHO, as their pace forces teams to pull back an extra 15 yards to allow for the quick break so we’re not defending right on the edge of our box, where Lewis scored their first from. But we don’t know if Elanga is fully fit.
Anyway, mistake or not by Nuno, at the end of the day, both goals were the result of poor defending and the defeat the result of poor finishing by Elanga and hitting the woodwork 3 times. I guess, after all those penalty shoot out wins, our luck was going to run out at some point, especially against a team like City where you don’t get much of a second chance.

Sosa hasn’t been giving a chance how can he be a flop for christs sake.

I think Sosa shows great potential Munmad. Certainly one for the future. I’d be giving him an extended contract ( but, then again, it’s not my money mate)

He'll be gone in the summer along with jota, the Irish centre back, taylor, boly, hennessey, como, toffolo, moreno, bowler, osong, and a few others
Big rebuild of the fringe players coming.

Exactly gents, the bench isn't good enough, fire sale incoming especially with European competition in mind???.

Dennis as well.
Think it will be a case of passing the parcel again with Mr Marinakis's other teams.
