I’m a bit concerned about Chris Wood. He scores half our goals, and when he doesn’t score we have nobody else. This is because we are set up to break quick and cross it, or pass for woods to score. Before anybody comes on and shoots me down I’m not a Chris wood hater. In fact I love him and I’m glad he has a new deal. But… if we had a more mobile striker, even if he’s not prolific, feeding the likes of gibbs white, CHO, Elanga, Anderson we would pose teams more problems.
Look at Bournemouth yesterday, very mobile high pressing quick, strong, attack minded possession based team, and there was about 6 or 7 players who all could have scored because of the unpredictability, like Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City etc. Yes soak up and hit on the break football has served us well but even when we were at our height of wins early January I was still adamant that we were going to get found out.
We have rode our luck over the last three or four games relying heavily on Sels, and Aina with goal line clearances that we were definitely papering over cracks. We are not YET a top six team and think we will just miss out on the European places but what a huge improvement on last season. I love Forest and this season I feel they have loved me back. Tough game against Brighton next week but a bit more positivity from the players and fans, we can get back on track. Marianakis needs to help this team further with one or two attacking options.

Can’t see anyone shooting you down Ace, it’s an honest observation with an element of truth. I think you’ll find a lot on here agreeing with your post. Wood is a good player, a great striker and a brilliant finisher but we play a style to suit. We definitely need something different and someone who can change it up as we are a bit one dimensional at the mo. So i totally agree with the point you make.

All a bit of doom and gloom on here at the moment. Let's look on the bright side, we've got enough points to secure prem football next season. And to be honest who though we would be in this position this season. So come on get behind the club and enjoy the rest of the season, come what may.

100% agree great post. Nuno has done wonders with the players at his disposal. We need to strengthen in attacking and defensive midfield imo.
We need better options, Yates for all his effort and tenacity isn’t good enough. Anderson is great and will hopefully only get better but he needs someone along side to help him out. Dominguez slightly better than Yates tactically and his work rate is phenomenal however still not at the level we need to really push on. Also we really need a striker which is easily said than done.
We are massively improved from previous seasons and it takes time and with Marinakis and Nuno they will get it right let’s be honest a top ten position would be a massive improvement.

I suppose I'm old school - but I'd love to see Forest going back to a traditional 4-4-2 formation with a quick, nimble striker playing off Wood's shoulder. IMO, with the players we have, this could suit us perfectly. I'd go for Sosa up top with Wood.
