I didn't travel to Brighton, watched it on Sky. I appreciate the comments on here.
I can't add much except to say, firstly, an excellent away point against a very good Brighton team who will be in the "second string " behind Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
I hate to say it but Taylor was right to advise Jones that MGW tackle was illegal. Borderline Red in fact imo. He was out of control, flying through the air, both feet off the ground. The fact that he got the ball is irrelevant. As somebody on here brilliantly remarked once " it's a game of football, not Enter the Dragon".
Lastly, our equaliser was a thing of beauty, a defence carved open in 3 one touch passes at speed. Great to see. Good subs by Nuno, flexible in formation, very good tactically to exploit their high line.
COYR.

Stokey one of theirs should have been sent off for a high tackle on Moreno 1st half.

Balloons mate, can't help but feel you have touch of "I told you so" in your posts. even when we are going we'll, who by the way am delighted, you sometimes can't help yourself pal?
Just enjoy this good spell were having?
And before you say "Oh but you loved Cooper blah, blah, blah"
I did say like most people I hope he does well, which at the moment he is,
I certainly am enjoying it.

The only Nuno decision which puzzled me was not to start Yatesy. First name on the team sheet for me, especially away from home against a top half team like Brighton. He did however change his mind at half time which shows he recognised his error.

Turning football into netball. It'll be a non contact sport in a few years. Unless you go through the player to get the ball (which MGW didn't, ball first then man second) then it shouldn't be a foul.

I remember that one Stevie. He was booked though wasn’t he?

Stokey yes mate but if you see the pictures online it’s very high,
23 Sep 2024 17:37:16
I’ve seen the photo mate it was high but at full speed it would have been harsh to give a straight red I think. MGW only got a yellow for a very dodgy flying tackle, the only problem was it was his second. At least it’s only a 1 match ban rather than 3. It was marginal upper yellow nearly straight red I would almost say he got away with a bigger punishment….
{Ed001's Note - it is automatic 2-match ban for a straight red Stokey. It is only 3 if it is violent conduct or the extra game if the team makes what is considered a frivolous appeal. They can add extra games on top at a hearing, but the actual standard ban for a straight red is 2-matches.}

Rogie pal. I am enjoying it. First time for many years. Attacking, entertaining expansive football. You asked me at the start of the season how I thought we would do and I said a top half finish with ease if you remember. So nothing negative from me mate. I'll leave that to DTP this season. ?.

Many thanks again Ed. You are the font of all knowledge mate! ?????.
{Ed001's Note - I wish that were so mate! Then I would be a very happy man as I always wanted to know everything, just to annoy me ma.}

Balloons for godsake have a day off, attacking expansive football? 29% possession, 30% v Liverpool, don’t tell me the tactics have changed, because the facts don’t back you up, don’t forget this time last year we beat Chelsea away and people got ahead of themselves, I’m happy with the results so far, but IT’s early days,
23 Sep 2024 19:52:31
You call me what you like balloons
You could call it constructive criticism as its not so much about calling players just saying I don't understand why he changed a side that beat Liverpool to go to another good side away and changed the tactics to
Nothing wrong in pointing that out and I did before a ball was kicked and three subs were needed at half time to rectify things.

It is very early days, I agree Stevie. However, it would seem that, at last, we have strength in depth within our squad. Without getting carried away I think a top half finish is very realistic if we can keep the nucleus of players fit and Nuno doesn't lose the plot too often!
As for possession figures - they mean nothing. All that counts is shots on goal.

I'll correct myself quickly! Forget stats, all that really matters is the final scoreline. Long after the stats and performance are forgotten - the scoreline remains forever.
23 Sep 2024 22:15:05
Legless balloons never stopped moaning about our low possession’s percentage which was about the same with the last manager, he called it ‘ parking the bus” now all of a sudden the same percentage is being called attacking expansive football ?, I’m calling out his hypocrisy and selective amnesia, I always thought stats didn’t matter,
23 Sep 2024 23:26:32
I hear what you're saying Stevie. I'm still fairly new to this site I suppose - but I'm starting to see enough to make my own informed judgement about posters.
As such, I've come to the conclusion that Stokey is a total knob!
Seriously though - Stats mean nothing. Results mean everything.
24 Sep 2024 00:13:57
Legless I have always said the only stat that has ever mattered is the final score, ?but under cooper balloons said 30% was parking the bus, under nuno it’s suddenly expansive attractive football?, double standards and hypocrisy of the highest order!
