Believe it or not, I got a scholarship to a private school which I attended for 2 years. I loved it there. OK full of toffs, but I didn't have to study much - I mostly just trained and played rugby for the school! I suppose it helped being 6ft1" and 14 stone at the age of 12.

I left what they called school at 14 mate then went to Stella school and got a scholarship ? and legless you can't lower yourself much further you've gone from 6ft to 3 ft unless you take your body away and leave your big head still make you 2 ft ??.

I went to a school where we had 2 Nuns, they drove past our bus one day in there open top Citroën C5, with the sunroof folded down, with their Veils fluttering in the wind, so as the went passed I hung out the window and sang "Dinna! Dinna! Dinna! Dinna! Dinna! Dinna! Dinna! Dinna! Batmaaaaan! "

Rogie, mate, this is true and not one of my daft jokes but one of the heads of faculty at my University was a lady of the cloth called Sister Karen Broderick She was very clever and was a world expert in Medieval English Literature. Her nickname ( openly to her face) was Nun the Wiser. She was a lovely lady and a good sport who came on nights out with us etc ??.

Legless, mate, I’ve PM d you over the misunderstanding over my education ( a poor joke on my part).
However, in joining the Police I was entirely mislead by watching Morse ( of which I was a big fan) where an Oxford don instead becomes a brilliant DCI.
I knew I was going to have problems when an ex military Superintendent bounced back a report on a criminal young offender because it included the word “insouciant “ which he quite brazenly said he didn’t understand and wouldn’t have the time to find a dictionary……. my career just went downhill from their mate.
Instead of “CC” after my name ( Chief Constable) it was “CC” ( Clever C”nt”) ????.
