Reading on here it's as if people want Nuno out already, we are 3 games in and not playing too bad.
Carry on as we are and we will be fine
But my question is which manager do you think would actually come in and do any better than what we have at the present.
I don't think we would get a top manager yet.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm not sure we'd attract top managers.

03 Sep 2024 18:04:41
A bit bonkers that some people want him out this early in the season. Baffling to say the least.

03 Sep 2024 18:32:32
You are right. We were very lucky to get Steve Cooper when we were at the bottom of the championship. Nuno was the best we could get after SC was sacked.
So until we achieve a stable upper mid table position, no one will willingly come. So we can only hope Nuno is the next step up we need.

Are you happy with three home wins in seventeen games pollyard and is that exceptable?

03 Sep 2024 21:50:05
I don't count the previous season, DTP. That's gone we've started the new season. I think we should have more points than we have. But I'm not stupid enough to start shouting for a coaches head after 3 games into a new season. It's just a ridiculous idea.

Out of curiosity edd what is your opinion of nuno?
And is he doing a good job?

{Ed001's Note - I am not a fan of Nuno, but then I don't like managers who set up to sit deep and go for a draw first. Counterattacking is for when you are already winning imo. He is also far too close to Mendes for my liking and will always try to sign players from Gestifute (who are also his agents) over other options, no matter which is the better player. For instance he vetoed the signing of Dani Olmo at Wolves in favour of Podence.}

Pollyard great post.

03 Sep 2024 23:06:04
Nuno will be stepped on very soon.

03 Sep 2024 23:24:31
Thanks edd for your opinion
Mine is just down to performance and I go to every home game and I find his stats unacceptable if we want to move forward as a club
He even took the fa cup seriously against Blackpool and Bristol seriously and still couldn't beat them
Three home games all one one against not the best we will meet worries me
Goalkeeper will struggle to keep a clean sheet
It's five points, but I think It will still be five points after Liverpool and Brighton and if we then don't beat Fulham at home, then it has to ne game over for nuno, because then it just gets hardr.

{Ed001's Note - if you play the counter from the start, it does make it difficult to beat lesser teams as your players are not being coached on what to do when they have long spells of possession.}

03 Sep 2024 23:37:03
Wow edd I've looked it up.
No wonder transfers are so complicated
Thanks edd opened my eyes to a new era.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

Pollyred
3 games at home already this season and all one one draws against not the best
Is that good enough seeing as you aren't counting last season?

04 Sep 2024 01:23:28
We aren't 3 games in under Nuno. He has been boss for a lot longer than that. We are 4 games in just this season, played total dross so far and only have one win.

If we carry on how we have so far under Nuno, he will (and probably should) be sacked.

The only thing that seems to have improved is the move to recruitment of younger players, and I don't even know whether that is his decision.

I hope it improves rather than him getting fired, as I don't want this run of hardly any wins to continue.

My my how expectation levels have changed!
Last year we went a third of the season (yes unbelievable isn't it? ) without a win and some of you were happy with the manager and saying he shouldn't go.
Here we are unbeaten (early days yes) including against 2 of our so called bogey teams who we never beat and your already moaning.

04 Sep 2024 07:57:27
If you read what I put then you will see I stated that I think we should have more points than we do. But it's early days. If it's still the same in October/ November then it might need a rethink. No coach can be blamed for his players creating chances but not putting them away. We've created a lot of chances this season so far but we haven't scored enough goals. That is not the fault of the coach.

04 Sep 2024 16:20:07
On my original post no one has actually answered the question.
With these people calling for his head no one can actually name a better manager that we could actually get at this time.

04 Sep 2024 17:50:24
Next Easter, brian clough stab, along with taylor.

04 Sep 2024 18:13:30
Completely off topic, Stabby, but I'd go for Nuno Espirito Santo until results start going awry. Then it might need looking at again.

04 Sep 2024 23:41:03
It needs looking at now.
