It's looking more likely that we will have to make do with what we've got up front. Hope we don't start panicking and end up like last season bringing in poor loan signings.
The two we were after one seemed to be to greedy, so good riddance. The other wants an easier life playing in the Dutch league and being top dog. Reading what some people been saying he could be a bit light weight for the Premiership. But we will never no.
Still a few days to go but not holding out much hope of getting a decent striker in now as time is short. But living in hope.

Fofana on loan, if Chelsea can forgive us?

Keep what we have, don't bring in lesser players as the moral of the players drop. Especially when what's come in are useless. Is there no one at the club recognise a decent striker when they see one, obviously not.

Time to blood the academy player's.

Well said ripley ?.
27 Aug 2024 17:51:29
Totally Ripley. Can you imagine how many 'tricks of the trade' Wood could pass onto the young Taylor in training?
Taylor is good at 20 years old. He could be superb by 22/ 23 if we manage his development correctly.

Definitely.
Homegrown Talent know the club and need to be brought through the ranks.

Defo agree with blooding the youth,
Everybody started somewhere at one time messi was a youth and someone showed faith.
If no one ever takes a risk these players would never come through,

I hope young Taylor gets a game tomorrow, perhaps rest Woody, give Taiwo a start and bring Dale on for second half or on the hour?
In Nuno we trust…. he does like a cup run but those long drawn out battles against Blackpool last season left us knackered for the Prem.

I think the Acadamy lost it's impetus to produce players when Gary Brazil left, or was pushed.
27 Aug 2024 21:23:01
Agree and disagree Vespa! Both Brazil and Cooper leaving the club was a terrible outcome for our Academy players without doubt. However, I feel that our Academy still has the skill and motivation to produce some great players for the future.
My worry is whether these 1st team players of the future will ever be given the chance at Forest or has the Academy just become a 'cattle market' to sell players on?

LeglessRed, read the Leeds banter they produced a few players from there Acadamy and made millions selling them on, unfortunately that's the model to stay in PSR rule's now days. At one time we produced players maybe not Premier quality, but we sold on at a profit like Appiah, unfortunately not anymore.

We only have Abbott that is anywhere near the first team, the rest won't make it as they are already 20 plus
We've signed an 18 year old that's gone straight into the first team squad, that's the difference
If your still playing under 21 football at 20, 21 or 22 they'll never make the grade at this level.
