I see 79 has cooled with posting on here citing negativity as the reason. Ginger jumps on any post that dares to ask questions. It's been a strange pre season for me. No cohesion in the selected games and injuries occurring in key positions. I really do wonder what input SC or DM have in the continued influx of stars from abroad or the interest in many which could just be paper talk. Oh yes the team that got Forest promoted was never going to be good enough, even with the loanees, to survive let alone compete at this new level. We have made some solid signings for sure particularly obrien Williams and toffolo, however the rate at which they are coming in suggests that someone is not taking any chances. This kind of goes against the grain of the way cooper works. Maybe gue diligence has been done on the type of character sc wants but it seems a tall order. I imagine that mr marinakis junior is sweeping Europe with his ample wallet. Good news for the club but is this level of recruitment a guarantee of results or the strategy we know sc likes to work to. It screams of the chaos of 2 years ago only on a grander scale. I was watching a video on the pending acquisition of mangala, where his stats were questioned and it made me think. For a defensive centre mid they were poor. I wonder how much homework has gone into some of these players as they had on paper one good season but prior to that
Cornet, Morgan look set to come in for big money I just wonder.

Rutter's a good and honest post.
It's a difficult situation to be promoted and to find players that will fit the mould of how Forest Play.
Yes the friendlies have been played and probably will highlight what work is needed for the squad.
With regards to spending well only time will tell if this philosophy will work?
Indeed it's a scary and probably a scattergun approach to ge x amount of new player's in but someone at Forest has a game plan.
Will it work and do forest stay up?
Again time will tell.

I suppose the difference between the heavy recruitment of this year and the past, is we are buying experienced first team players, not Benfica youngsters. Also, some of these have played for their country. After promotion a decision had to be made, do we buy the loanees and is the squad deep enough quality wise. Not good enough is the answer made by the club, we may of signed 12 but at the minute the 25 man squad is still made up of last seasons questionable players. It may seem we've gone OTT with the number of signings but realistically we need them.

It's just some of the nonsense you write at times, one day your saying the Lingard signing would be him being mercenary and a bad gamble then the next day you're saying he's best thing since sliced bread, pick a lane guy:)

Well Rutters there does seem to be a massive influx of German leauge players. So Syrianos has obviously singled them out but surely they didn't come without Murphy/ Cooper running the rule over them. Murphy prob spent all last season analysing them, he's got nothing else to do.
5 loan players left us with half a team and after watching last night's game apart from Sturridge and MbeSoh and Yates what a load if garbage we have as back up so a massive influx of players was always going to take place.
On last nights epic showing against a non leauge team . Smith, Taylor Mighton, Cafu, absolutely rubbish. Some promising kids Hammond and Donnally but in the main sub standard guff. ?.

You know what I love the most? Reading people commenting about other people rather than football. Love ins and bitching are the banter/ rumour site equivalent of reality TV or the Tory leadership campaign. Get a room, girls.
