I wonder if Steve cooper realises the gravity of the next 2 possibly 3 matches. Firstly it will clarify whether we keep the players that have rejuvenated the season. If we remain in the championship then it's unlikely we will have the funds or attraction to offer these starlets deals attractive to them or their clubs. Players contracts are running down so some will leave anyway which will lead to another massive overhaul and rebuilding to go into next season and this will be a massive task for Murphy and cooper.
Secondly the monies on offer for getting to the prem is insane and opens the door for retention of players and makes it attractive for top class players to want be a Forest player.
Thirdly any ground improvements will only happen if Forest are a prem outfit. So the pressures on cooper and Murphy must be massive. Never has so much hinged on a few football matches.
If we don't make it will the pair have the ability and backing to go again With the playoffs dragging on through end of may time is not on our side to restructure and hit the ground running. Clearly our bench is weak as certain players have not made the step up so it's going to be interesting.
Then of course if we do make it then clearly money becomes the over riding topic. And the clear out will be even greater some players will not be worth better terms for being a prem club. Some might think it's a nice problem to have but it will be drenched in uncertainty about how the money is spent. Will it be used to strengthen, will players get greedy, will maranakis use the funds to develop the ground or will he want a little payback
One thing for sure is that the magnitude of overcoming Sheffield united to play one more future defining cup final is mind blowing and the club is on the precipice of a 22 year yearning to visit the promised land.
The Bournemouth match was our first taste of winner takes all and we could not rise to the occasion. can cooper deliver a performance when the pressure is really on

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes I suspect he does rutland😂.

11 May 2022 08:46:18
Interesting Rutters but the only problem is Steve Cooper won't be playing. He's turned a load of bench warmers into good players and a team of relegation fodder into a top 4 team . He's coached em, moulded them into a proper team, got his philosophy over how to win.
It's up to the guys who run over the white line now . Will they bottle it? We'll see, over to you boys 🎈.

I'm sure Cooper really hasn't given it a 2nd thought, lol.

Well done ginger with another thoughtless stupid dig rather than engaging brain for one second.
I may have started the post with an error but please come on

Sarcasm on a banter site is not a dig - it's humour. Calling what a person posts IS A DIG!

Why so touchy?

Steve is an extremely intelligent man and will be well aware of every angle, never mind the players we may have a promotion keeping him here ,just hope no one from above starts poking their noses in .

Red because I realised after I posted that it was a stupid start to the post but wanted to highlight the gravity of this era not question whether cooper had thought of it
