England Flatter to deceive. This was a side from Albania for goodness sake . BBC headline, has Kane turned the corner? More extreme Southgate to be offered contract till 2024 . Am I the only person who thinks Southgate will take the National side nowhere? He has the cream of English footballers to choose . Yet Grealish as an example must despair with Southgate . Yet again he plays Walker in his back three of 5. The debacle of his management of the final against Italy is the case in point . Sadly when it comes down to games against good opposition he is always found out.
I know think before I die Forest will be in the premiership with SC. He has you could say created a silk purse etc . Sadly I don't think in my lifetime I will see England lift a trophy.

Well we can only play the teams we are drawn against. Not a great team obviously but Albania are improving.
As for Southgate, we were semi-finalists, then World Cup finalists only losing on pens, yeah, that is a terrible run of results for an England manager. First World Cup final since 66 too, come on.

Fair enough based on tournament placings then yeah he’s successful and I guess that’s ultimately the only measure for an international manager. From an entertainment perspective he’s rock bottom in my opinion .

Bobby Robson was without doubt the best manager since ramsey on an England level. Brilliant with players, true gentleman and only beat by cheating/ luck.

Ramsey totally overrated, ok he won the World Cup, but it was at home against 15 teams of which only Portugal and west Germany were any good. The fact that storey- moore didn’t get 50caps is down to him and his boring, boring football.

Robson is my favourite too. He had some special players and he got the best out of them. I haven’t watched england for ages now and doubt I will again - it’s just boring .

It makes me laugh if Germany or Italy had done that to Albania in the 1st half, everyone would have been saying what a fabulous performance it was, because it’s England it’s poor opposition, typical English reaction, in awe of foreign countries, but critical of anything from their own,

Oakhamred, that’s ridiculous, Argentina were a good side and it’s not Ramsey’s fault a great Brazilian team got themselves knocked out that’s football, that was a very good England team, ball, charlton, banks, Moore, were word class players. And it’s funny how it’s lucky when England win on home soil, but not Germany, France, Argentina Italy, etc, of course they were all great teams, England were obviously lucky,
