So the search for a new manager starts today. I feel it was the right decision in the end as Hughton was a very lonely isolated figure in his understanding and execution. That said the players are looking like the same old disjointed crocks and cast offs we are used to recruiting of recent. So a new manager will inherit a shambles make no mistake. We saw it lastnight, simply awful individual and collective performances. Joe worrall was the biggest failure i doubt any club would be sniffing around him after that. Yes against derby he put his body on the line but was caught napping lastnight and looked lost. Mckenna is ok but for all his efforts still we cannot dominate in the air. Look closely at taylor, grabban, yates, zincernagle, garner. Their touch and imagination was shocking. Lowe looks ok as does johnston. Personally i thought the keeper was doing ok. Talking commanding his box and dealt well with what came at him. The howler though was sunday league stuff. But you pass it back to a keeper enough times and you are inviting trouble andcwe do plenty of that. On the mbe soh situation, he is not a full back and not big enough for a centre back. Laid off a nice ball to brennan but that's where it ended.
I thoght silva looked lively and pacey with a decent touch but his one shot from one side of the pitch seemed to go into touch on the other. Mind you yates grabban and garner were all guilty of the sunday league desperation shoot from impossibility when a pass would be more appropriate.
So back to the point, would a decent ambitious young manager risk his reputation on a failing project that is nottingham forest?
To stop the rot and deliver a happier brand of football?
To have to gel a an average squad with new recruits from all corners?
A big ask and very testing task for the owner. I cannot see anything other than a hughton, kranky or lamouchi type coming in. The king is dead long live the king.

There will always be a big queue willing to take the job, at the end of the day they get a 2 or 3 year contract and if they fail get paid off anyway.
The first thing those players need is some confidence, something lacking under hughton and the last thing they needed was Reid and trollope in charge Saturday as it will be more of the same.
Both should have gone with him as they are part of the problem.

The first thing they need is to stop taking the knee if they can't all agree to it.
If they're not United in doing it, it shows weakness and a divided camp to the opposition before a ball is even kicked.

FF79 who is trollope? Do you think Reid is a Houghtonite? I thought he had been doing reasonably well with the under 23s. There is No Way he should be appointed of course . My hope is for Steve Cooper . Young, motivates youth players and successful with Swansea . It’s whether the conditions of being a mere coach with no control over which players come to the club are acceptable. To me they wouldn’t be so if he is not appointed - currently the bookies favourite -, then it will verify that the growth at the centre of our club is still festering and will eventually bring us down.

worrall as always been a failure for me, too many silly mistakes and not clever enough to think of possibilites. he gives away free kicks and they mostly score and steal the points. take a look back last 3 to 4 seasons on the points he as cost forest,

Doc Paul trollope is assistant to hughton and its steven Reid in charge not Andy.

Thank you for explaining that, now I am gloomy about the Huddersfield result.
