This might surprise some on here but i have to say Chris Hughton should step aside. And its not saying he is totally at fault only that i doubt he can reverse our fortunes. He had 2 weeks to prepare for the Cardiff match. We all knew the threat they would pose with height and strength. He refuses to drop Samba who has lead boots and blancmange for hands. The two fairies up front, who ever thought these 2 could play together?
But its sad and like most am looking for stability, continuity etc. However the club though trying to navigate this treacherous course with cautuon are falling victim to their own stuborness. The clueless football is a reflection of poor footballers and let's not get carried away. Even the likes of zinkernagle and garner are here because they were or are not good enough for their current clubs. Ok in garners case that might be harsh but its a fact. Like i said he disappeared in our last 6 matches of last season.
Changing manager now will relieve the desperate hughton before it kills him. A new coach will give the place a lift short term. However make no mistake this team is fragile and not sure yet if we have invested in quality. I have always said, Hughton has earned the right to have a go with his own players. However i doubt any of these signings were hughtons other than garner, else he would have dropped samba for example.
The club might be in transition but i'm sorry to say that its a rock bottom team bereft of confidence and footballing guile. The club can remain steadfast with their appointment but its looking very ominous if they do.

RR you are right the problems with our club go deep . It’s wrong to say we have had no success in the last 15 years ie Billy Davis x2 plus SL x 1. The Leicester, Leeds Brentford clubs were in or round about the playoffs for a few years . Derby are also in the mire this season I would predict but did well other seasons in fact better than Forest . So what really is going on? It had to be down to the philosophy of the owner. We have had so many managers and different players, most of which would get into other championship sides . Our fall from grace under SL has precipitated also a gross lack of confidence among the players - Samba / Grabban / Lolley are prime example . CH is a manager also lacking real motivational skills to persuade the players they are a lot better than appears . Watch Sheffield Utd rise after that confidence boosting 6 against Peterborough. This problem in our club won’t get better without installing a motivational manager . Or we regroup in a lower league.

Rutland garner was our man of the match in our last game of last season v Preston, and scored a great goal, hardly faded away, he was surrounded by failure, the miracle is he came back, so now fans having over hyped him last season are slaughtering him after 2games,

Stevie i am not slaughtering him. He is still a teenager and as is usual inconistant. Basically learning his trade with us. We don't even have an influential skipper. Our performances and results end of last season were a mirror of the season before. To start the season without the much needed qualiity was a deraliction of duty.

I don't think anyone is slaughtering him stevie, it's just he didn't put in a forest man of the match performance, but nine times out of ten they pick the wrong player.

Disagree about having crap all around him, crap manager in charge yes who is doing what he did at Norwich who came good once he had left.
We need a new coach to put a smile back on the players faces and fill them with confidence.

It's a team game and we showed with the goal we scored that there is talent in the squad.

But you also see heads dropping far too often and that's for the manager to lift them which he's failed to do.

Rutland too much is being expected of garner I agree, heis a good young player but was ridiculously over hyped by many pundits,

13 Sep 2021 21:23:37
Ff79 if you had to pick a man of the match from that dross on Sunday, surely it would have to be Lowe, but he didn’t have much to beat.

13 Sep 2021 21:27:41
Nail on the head there stevie.

13 Sep 2021 22:06:56
Yes I'd have said Lowe purely for supplying the one bit of quality in the whole game.
