You can talk formation all you like but the formation is not really the problem. Its not great I agree, but the problem is we simply do not have the players to hurt the opposition. Hand on heart guys where is the strength, the power, the ariel threat, the dynamic midfielder bursting into the box. The great tackler, playmaker, wide man with real pace and strength. pz aside and maybe sick note lolley. Our football is stagnent as we lack much of the above. The young lads including mighten are not ready yet and may never be. Gardner has something about him but remember he faded last 6 games last season. Our football is one dimensional and generally attacks peter out and the stats prove it. Yup sack hughton the results are very poor. But make no mistake turning this around will be no easy task. Little is happening in the window only rumours and that is the big worry. We need a few bullies in our team starting at the back. Worralls injury has dented the sale of our prized asset so hampered any spending. Thanks Joe lol. but that's the foresight of the club and it has backfired. Some panic buys or strange loans expected as the window end approaches. New manager? Is definately the most likely outcome but will it chamge anything without good player aquistions?

You can not hurt the opposition if sit deep in your own half letting the opposition come on to you and keeping your fingers crossed they do not break through.

M&c so why don't these players get at the opposition and show their ability and determination. Name a player that can hurt the opposition. I can't its that simple. This is a tough league and starting with samba its soft to the core. forget the formation hughton picks the best players available. You expect the tough nuts to rise and put in a performance in ANY FORMATION.

Rutland the team as a whole are dejected and lack confidence.
Hughton's tactical prowess has had an impact on how games are played out.
When Forest did score and are 1 nil up they sit back and defend.
This is Hughton's Doctrine always has always will be.
One dimensional mindsets are easily sussed out by the opposition.
Passing side by side and backwards gets you nowhere.
Pz and Garner are Forest's best players but to rely on those two is a very big ask.

Hughton's orders are sit deep, defend as if your life depend on it when there enough of the opposition pouring forward pass it long and hooe to score.

Anyone daring to defy those orders will not get to play very often.

Under the right leadership, and using any formation in a attack minded way, and i do not all out attack in a mindless way then we would have Lolley, Mighten, Garner Zinckernagel, Johnson, Taylor, Grabban would all improve.

Hell even Cafu and Colback might end up surprising us.

The old saying attack is the best form of defence is not too far off the mark, off course you need strong defenders as well.

Like it mind. 👍😁.

Ron Aitkinson went to the wrong dug out, Hughton came to the wrong club ten years to late! .

Utter nonesense unbelievable that you all think its hughton. Those players are not programmed they are just not good enough. If they were strong enough they would rise above and get amongst them. To even suggest that cafu might surprise us. I have never seen him shoot on target, not once, nor have i seen him tackle or get beyond the strikers. I get it that hughton might not be up to it but he does not cross the white line. that's the players job.

We don't think it's just Hughton's fault.
The problem comes from the owner and his entrusted entourage who he takes advice from.
Hughton has his role in what's happened he's inept and is tactically incapable of attacking.
Rutland we will never know what goes on behind closed doors but there's a saying "A good tradesmen never blames his tools".
Face facts Hughton is out of depth and he's clinging on by a gnats hair.
Lose against Derby and Hughton the Great shall be nothing but a distant bad memory.

25 Aug 2021 19:30:05
So if Smith and Samba mutually agreed to swap at half time even though Hughton did not sanction it what would happen.

If Hughton told Colback to play at left back as he has played there before and during the game Colback told Garner to swap with him how would Hughton react.

Fawaz did you read my post last week where i clearly stated i not so much support hughton but the principle and what he represents. We all called for less backroom staff, for a clear out and rid of the DOF. Hughton has overseen this and the hard part is getting the players. We dant have it all ways. Get rid of hughton and marinakis will start pulling the strings again. We need bughton to succeed or its back to the madhouse. And in your heart you must realise its a tough job and trust me no easy sollution.

25 Aug 2021 20:08:20
Rutland I read all posts.
In an ideal world i would want Forest to be successful and have an onwer who actually cares and has its best interest at heart.
The cusp of it is in reality this is not the case.
Until Marinakis realises what is required then Forest will be in the predicament and all shall be the same regardless of who is the Coach manager.

We have the players to play a different formation Rutland, but that's the problem as hughton wants players to adapt to his formation but he's not willing to change tactics for their best performance.

25 Aug 2021 21:29:05
I always thought a manager was supposed to adapt the football he got the players to play that suits the strengths of the majority of players he has at his disposal.

The minority he trains to try and improve to fit in with the majority until he can replace them if they do not improve enough.

If he has a style of football he prefers then he needs get the team to play to their strengths until he can get enough players in that suit his style of football.

Unfortunately Hughton among other managers simply join clubs and impose their style of football on the players regardless of whether or not the majority of the players suit that style then moan the players are not good enough when he is putting square pegs in round holes.

Spot on mind and craft.

25 Aug 2021 23:03:03
Rutland when you say you've never seen cafu tackle?
Then you weren't watching the Stoke game he went in big time in the first half and won the tackle fairly but was strong.
I can't judge any player anymore under hughton as he takes away their ability to express themselves.
Brentford want Johnson but he looks a list soul with us when he had a great season at Lincoln being aloud to play his natural game.
You keep sticking up for this clown if you like but his time is nearly over and it can't come quickly enough.

Touche FF.
Couldn't agree more.
Hughton sucks the confidence out of players.
