The way things are going, or more realistically, aren't going, I reckon we'll be in a relegation battle from relatively early into the season. I honestly get sick to death of us going through the motions every season, re transfers. It's awful. It's like whomever manages the club have to contractually sign up to this debacle before they take the role; no matter who is on charge, this always seems to happen.

Pre season more like pantomime season ,still at least we haven’t signed 14 players this time !

I guess we can only buy who is available and who and wants to come. If we were bringing in loads of players or paying way too much then that would be wrong too.

It's kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I think transfers normally seem to occur later in a World Cup and Euro's season, hopefully we can still get a bit of decent business done.

Looking forwards to the season start as always.

Rumours that say we want such and such are just rumours, if that player stays with his club or moves to another club that is up to them but were we ever after them.

Even if we were after a certain player how many teams get every player that was their first choice.

Once we get players walk through the Forest doors they could make the squad the best we have had for a long time.

I can understand no signings being made as yet. Difficult market, little money. Also we don't want a repeat of last year bringing in dross, so that's a positive at least.

What I don't understand is the full back situation, if we were resigned to losing Rib, why did we let Ioannou go? He was good.
And now Christie has gone back and we're putting a price on Gabriel.
Maybe we don't want full backs this season, I mean its an option.
McKenna, Worrall, Soh - 3 across the back. In that case we would need strong left and right mids, not Lolley Mighten or Johnson, they're more like inside forwards. Proper left and right mids.

Your right with pantomime season carlo. Samba its behind you. 🤡 but the world still revolves. Heads up until the balls kicked 👍.

Christ tricky tree don't tell munmad we are going 3 at the back, he hates that formation 🤣🤣🤣.

The press, jurno's, gutter snipe, liars whatever you want to call em are exactly that well the vast majority of them anyway, better not too read too much into these story's so don't be too worried take it with a pinch of salt reds.
As far as signings go I'd be happy to keep what we have and just sign one or two good quality players.
Things are looking good about the club on and off the field to me IMO.
Keep the faith you reds.

We are six players weaker than we were finishing last season so we are going to be battling relegation if a striker two full backs and a playmaker aren't signed.
Diabolical that we are only 11 days away and none of our problem positions have been filled.
We already know that grabban and Taylor can't score under hughtons tactics so needs sorting fast.

27 Jul 2021 14:51:41
Six players, Garner played well, and Riberio who was ok.

Who are the other four players that did such a good job we will miss them.

27 Jul 2021 15:03:42
We won't know who we need to buy until Spurs and Man U decide who they can loan us. I think both clubs will be making decisions in the next few days. But even if we get one striker on loan, we could do with buying someone with more experience.

27 Jul 2021 16:54:13
Yes FF but it’s because we are waiting to sell someone and can’t get the money we want .

27 Jul 2021 16:59:48
Still lost christie knockheart ameobi and Murray.
Personally wouldn't want any of them back but it's still six players in total so therefore we are weaker as a squad.

27 Jul 2021 18:09:41
I'd argue that a fit Lolley is better than Knockeart, Johnson is better than Ameobi. So we are potentially not weaker there is Lolley can stay fit. But no way are we strong enough up front. That's why we have to do something there, even if it costs money.

The way I look at it cyclist is play Johnson and mighten in every game play Gabriel at right back but the sounds coming out of forest is they will sell if they can bring a player in so hughton obviously doesn't rate him.
Play Taylor and grabbing if a striker can't be bought in but yet again hughton won't fo that.
Play three at the back and wing backs but he won't do that either so reinforcements are the only option.

FFf70, if only he would give the youngsters a proper chance we would be up there in two years no problems!

Whenever we sell, the calculation I make involves two things. Can we get better with the money? Will the player be worth even more next year if we keep them?

None of the players we can get a big fee for will be worth less next year. Players that good won't come here at the moment and will want more wages anyway. So every time we sell, we are financially worse off AND the team is weaker.

What part of that simple equation doesn't the club understand? I'd love to be interviewed for a position at Forest and go in with a spreadsheet that showed them: LOOK AT WHAT YOU COULD HAVE WON!

27 Jul 2021 21:31:27
I'm with you cyclist it makes the blood boil when we pay an estimated 5 million plus stupid wages for Harry after at 31 and then a year later tell him to look for a new club?
Yep he's going to do that😁😁
Only got 5wo more years to keep paying him 30k plus a week for doing n9wt along with buckaroo.
Got to sell our best youngsters to pay these worthless players bought in on a whim.
Now we are looking at an ex arsenal player who plays second division football in Holland as our right back.
Fourteen players we signed and only two fit for purpose and 15 million from matt sale and more down the toilet.
We are skint unless we sell.
And the answer will be when we are struggling?
Give hughton time?
Lol its not his team🤣🤣.

27 Jul 2021 21:56:13
Exactly. And why was McKenna a good signing? He was young, improving and hungry to learn and, most importantly, prove himself at this level. By the end of this season he will be settles at this level and worth at least double what we paid. If we keep players like that, we are either promoted or financially better off.

Why was Knockeart a waste of money? Because he is the opposite and even if he does well, all we are doing is increasing his value for another club. In the meantime, a player with a better assist and goals per minute ratio than him (Mighten) is being blocked from developing and not increasing his value to the club.

Look at Peterborough and Brentford if you want to see how it is done. Pick out the best young players, give them a chance to have a few poor games and as time goes by you are sitting in higher division or a squad worth millions. Simples!

The c.v. situation is also magnifying the problem. If player fees are deflated this window due to the c.v. then why not just keep them until things change. It is ludicrous to sell them for half of what we can get next summer.

You get a 👍👍from me mate just think hughton is the wrong guy for the job.
