Friend of mine went to the Crewe game. Gave a thumbs up to Lolley, Colback, Mighten and Johnson. Also said Gabriel and Soh did ok. Bong atrocious - beaten every time. There was a hostile atmosphere from the Crewe 'fans' and lots of insults to our club and players which should have been silenced in the second half with a 6 goal drubbing.
What actually happened was that we were put under severe pressure and battered towards the end with Crewe nearly scoring a winner. Said he didn't even notice Carvalho was on the pitch - no impact on the game.
Hope CH finds a way to do something about this before before 8 August or we are in trouble. When I asked if we looked like top 6 material answer was: no chance!

Again, I'm not getting over excited for this season.
Usual one up front, and rumours we're selling Johnson, and Worrall. hope Eric's just Training with us, why can't better players be just "Training with us"?
And maybe grab ourselves a couple of bargains?
We're running out of time, unless Hughton can pull a rabbit out of his a#@e. we will be in trouble early doors.

Rogie, without a complete overhaul we can expect more of the same, remember 09/ 10 when we got our business done early?
Even if we bring players in now it’s too late and it’s quite obvious any spending is dependent on selling first, the buying clubs know this and will be trying to get our players cheap . Players will be sold though - make no mistake about that’.

Chris Wilder would be my choice to turn this three ring circus around.
2 weeks away from the start of the season and from what I saw at Crewe we will struggle big time as they battered us for the last 20 minutes as we curled up into a ball and surrendered possession and any attacking threat
Nothing changes under Hughton and if we play like that against Villa it could be embarrassing
Hughton has to go and go now no ideas no plan b no nothing he is past his sell by date.

Has it ever occured that every man and his dog realises that we have signed no new players yet and so hughton has just less of the dross recruited over the last 3 years. The kids brought back from loan are future not nows. We can't have it both ways with restructuring, trimming and expect to be tearing up trees. Yes players will go and we will eventually get some HUGHTON signings. Hughton is desperate to put his stamp on the club. Whether it is effective or not he deserves a bit more respect and time. The decision to move hughton out must be made after we see what he has to offer with his ideas in signings going forward. Not based on the history of inheritance.

Are we really criticizing the last 20mins of the Crewe game when we'd made half a dozen subs and most of them were young lads? It happens.
