Just been looking on you tube, reminiscing! Our 4-0 win at old Trafford the season we won the league, I think it was our best performance to watch under Brian, a real high powered, pacy, ruthless, counter attacking performance, woodcock was sensational that day, unplayable, and I still don't think he gets the credit he deserved, treat yourselves and have another look,

Was a great performance stevie, but there were quite a few, my favourite game was the charity shield win against Ipswich, total football.

Yes, Stevie f, that really was a fantastic performance - I remember Barry Davies saying that he'd never seen Man. United outplayed so comprehensively at Old Trafford and that Forest's early season results (including a 3-1 win at Everton on the opening day, if I remember correctly) were definitely not a fluke or a "flash in the pan".
Also, Forestforever 79, that was also a great performance in the harity.

Shield against Ipswich - 5-0, I think, with Peter Withe unstoppable in the air. Then he was sold soon afterwards!

Forest 1958 yes mate, I think Brian did sell 1or 2too soon, I think tony woodcock should have been held onto at all costs.

Quite agree, Stevie f, Woodcock was like greased lightning, could turn on a sixpence and had pretty good close ball control. From memory, he sustained quite a bad injury (knee possibly? ) and, when he came back, had lost half a yard of pace. Don't know if this had an influence on Cloughie's decision to sell him?

The thing that stands out about birtles and woodcock was the graft they put in, Birtles also put some tackles in too.
Compare that with lazy arsed grabnone!

I'm not sure Woodcock was underrated, didn't he win Young Player of the Year the season Forest won the league? Also made his England debut that year too I think.

He did leave too soon though, maybe that's why he isn't remembered quite as much from a Forest perspective. He was still a top player when he returned with Arsenal.

Sswe I did really mean from a forest perspective, he doesn’t seem to be given as much credit as he should be.

Many things sir brian did wrong .
Letting kenny and larry go to soon and peter withe along with woodcock.
But he always had something and someone in mind when he did those things.
His worst decision was letting teddy go that proved a step to far, but by then he was an ill man in need of help.

He let Teddy go for a brown envelope 😬.
