My neighbour is an Accrington Stanley supporter and is involved with the board there and knows the players well and regularly watches home games. I asked him about Dion Charles, and specifically if he; had pace, could dribble and beat players, shoot on target from the edge of the box, score goals with his head and mix it with centre halves? His answer went something like: 'He is a harrier - he chases down every ball, he keeps running and doesn't give up. His goals have been scrappy but he's scored 23.' He didn't mention any great skill. To me that sounds like limited ability and not up to top Championship standard. Another Lyle Taylor but not as good? We need forwards who are automatic, top 2 finish standard after last season's embarrassment or forget it. Your thoughts please gentlemen?

How many scrappy goals do we score?
For me, we don't need a player who can dribble past players in the number 9 position. We need a player who gets the ball in the back of the net.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Lyle Taylor does a lot better next season if he plays a few games.

I agree on Lyle Taylor - Hughton hasn't given him a chance. The point I was really trying to make was that Dion Charles needs to be doing all that in League 1 to be able to make an impression in the Championship. I was trying to find out if he looked head and shoulders above League 1 standard - it's a massive gulf in class.
