For what it's worth (and bearing in mind I've only watched the lads on Sky this season) here's my take on re shaping the squad.
Straight away get rid of the deadwood, Hefele, Bachirou, Freeman, Arter, Colback, Murray, Bong, Jenkinson, Dawson
Assess Lolley and Sow medically, keep if fit.
Jury is out on Knockeart for me. At least he cares and shows some passion, even if the end product is erratic to say the least.
Of the established team get rid of Ameobi and Samba, both brilliant on their day but not consistent enough for me. Also let Grabban go for his final Middle East payout and who could blame him at his age?
If possible bring Garner and Christie back ( I think Garner will go abroad or to lower Prem team, Christie's wages might be an issue.
That leaves a core of Smith in goal ( never let's you down) Diallo don't know anything about him?
Defenders, Gabriel, Blackett, McKenna, Worrall, Figuereido, Mbe Soh, Ribeiro (who looks like he's off home atm sadly)
Midfield Yates, Johnson, Cafu, last chance saloon Cavalho, Sow
Wingers Lolley Mighten
Striker Taylor.
Supplemented by Fornah and the next Academy generation
So plenty of work to do transfer and loan markets for CH but also many gaps and opportunities for some hungry young up and coming players to fill. No more ageing journeymen please CH let's have some Lower League and Academy signings with a bit of fire in their bellies. Also keep a tight squad of around 25 and for Gods sake hang on to Worrall ( make him Captain) .
Thoughts? Also who have I missed out? 🤔.

Krovinovic is worth a shout also IMO either signing or loan. Showed some promise.

Stokey, its ok saying sell sell sell. What on ebay mate with no reserve. because again whos going to pay this lot the wages there on. As for buyers. Would only be league 1/ 2 that would have them. let's be honest that's all most are. But try telling the players that's all they are. Which brings us back to coaching. We need a far better standard than this season. Simple as mate.

The idea is to keep your best players and any players that come in have to be better than those that you already have.
Sow the midfield toughy that is not tough in body going off the injuries he picks up so often needs to go.
Lolley i think is finished but he has been a good player for Forest so unless the club can find a better player than Lolley on good day we should keep him incase he does manage to stay fit long enough to improve our term.
Knockeart is a big NO there has got to be many players out there that have passion without his expense
Ameobi may be inconsistent but he is one of our better players.
Grabban has not been interested in playing for Forest for some time now, so unless he has had a change of heart get him gone.
Trying to get Garner back is a must.
Christie only started to come good towards the end of his loan period, if Cash could manage to change position and be as good as he was for us why did Christie take so long to adjust to his normal position.?

Bowie I used the term “Get rid†rather than sell, so that would include loan it just cutting losses and buying off the contract. But I take your point mate. It’s such a big unwieldy squad there’s little cohesion or team spirit. It’s not the only reason we’ve had a poor season but it’s one of the main ones I think.
