I decided to opt out of commenting on this site some time ago, but I'll chip in my two pennorth at the end of an abysmal season.
Things will not change till the owner changes, and even then we might get someone worse.
Hughton saved the Club from relegation.
The team has a good defence but no proper creative midfield and no strikers.
Many players need moving out or on and younger ones need bringing in.
I'm stating the obvious, but it will take another two seasons to build a team capable of a top six challenge.

Welcome back bsered. Smart comments and to me its a must we have stability through what i think is a transitional time for the club. Randal is being listened to and hughton has the confidence from within. We cannot allow another manager who has asessed the strengths and weakneess through this last season be chucked out of the club where he can act on everything he has seen. If mr m wants return on investment he has to stop throwing daft money around and allow hughton to stop the rot and rebuild.

Why will it take 2seasons? Barnsley went from relegation certainties to a top six team inside 2months, Cardiff have done similar things in the past,

The problem at our club is not having a nucleus of players to build a team around . Both Cardiff and Barnsley did not change the make up of their teams yet did well the next season. We change almost all of the team and look where we ended up!
If indeed a while host of players leave including all the loans it will take 2 seasons at least to form a competitive group of players. Blackburn, Coventry are two examples of teams who have not changed and both will do well next season ie Blackburn play offs, Coventry mid table, where I hope we will be.

I think the owner has learned and is going to give the manager more control. Unfortunately he looks poised to give control to the most boring manager I have seen in years!

If we had given Martin O'Neil this opportunity we would be playing in the Premier League now. Imagine what he would have done with our youngsters if he could have spent the money we spent the last two seasons on a few good professionals.

Do you think O'Neil would have kept Grabban last summer after what happened at the end of last season? He would have replaced Grabban with a committed striker! We would have had a comptetent holding midfielder giving us the option of playing only one at home. O'Neil also, as a European Cup winning winger, understands the importance of good wide players and we would likely have been playing two wingers at home and scoring goals.
