A lot of talk about Houghton on this site that I find hard to reconcile. His record in charge of any team in the Championship in a full season is no lower than 4th. That is quite a record. It's not his fault that Grabbon could not hit a barn door from 6 yards out this season. Nor that he inherited some strange new signings such as Freeman and Arter and that Colback looked completely disinterested. Our best players last year in Cash and Watson left the club and created a massive hole that was not filled. He has plastered over the gaping holes in what is a very large but imbalanced squad. There needs to be a massive clear out. This was wanted a long time ago and never happened. It has to be ruthless this summer with 8- 10 players out and only 3-4 players in.

Agree6 Disagree0

Hughton has been with Forest for all but 5 games of this season, do you really think had he had those extra games he would have lifted Forest to no lower than 4th.?
I think had he had those extra games he would have taken us down, at the beginning of the season you could throw up his previous record, not with 1 game to go.
Only Megson has a worse win ratio than Hughton, that is all anyone needs to know.

Dont take me seriously tyke mate the wife never did. Shes away so i have to take it out on this lot 😳 sorry mate. And btw you have some good valid points 👍.

He’s going to be there next season tyke so we will soon know if you’re right or not.

The Qatar one got plenty of goals out of Grabban but once this manager came in Grabban's goals dry up, not a coincidence.

The manager brought in a striker, two midfielders and a winger, and has had plenty of time to improve the team, he has not managed it.

04 May 2021 19:59:03
Hughton just had a full season apart from 4 games.

04 May 2021 19:59:31
Get forward i don't think you can blame hughton for how dire grabban has been mate. and its far from a coincidence. A player doesn't change that drastically over the manager. And if they were having fall outs he probably wouldn't get on the bench. Look at Taylor. I can only put it down to personal reasons. At home etc.

Grabban's goals dried up for the last third of last season under Lamouchi. Stop making up excuses for him. Grabban has lost his mojo. There must be a reason and it isn't the manager.

04 May 2021 20:39:08
I have realised why Grabban has been rubbish Bowiered, in his first training session the manager said to Grabban i want you to keep the ball up for as long as possible, Grabban thought he said i want you to balls it up for as long as possible. 😁.

So you all think he inherited a squad that was ready to tear up the Championship? We were leaking goals, had zero confidence and had lost our best players with some obvious bad eggs imported into the mix. Given the scenario safety was all that was hoped for, we were relegation fodder when he took over. I’m not making excuses for him just pointing out to some on here who have an inflated idea of where this club was when he came in.

Luv it GF hahahaha.

Tyke i posted a little while ago on watson/ cash being the nucleus of last season. And losing them were hard to put back. as for players coming in. Did you know any better than us? We live in hope mate. Have done for years. All we've got. the chances of maybe 2 or 3 being half decent i don't think any of us expected. And remember there were no fans this season. The city ground could maybe have changed a few of these players with fans behind them. Just saying.

Tykeathome.
Hughton is the most bore of a manager we've had since megson.
He signed cafu, garner, knockheart, murray and krovinivic, only garner has proved good, so can we trust him with the money we get from the sale of worrall?
Then do you want to watch the crap he turns out?
There was always a better forward thinking side in that bloated squad but hughton won't play expansive or attacking football.
He will start next season but be gone by xmas as his tactics are outdated.
One game left and soh and a few others should play not loan players but then we are talking hughton so it will be same old faces and a nil nil.
If that's what you want then enjoy tykeathome.

Im with you ff79, just like to say on the players brought in i picked it up wrong. I meant the 14 not hughtons.

04 May 2021 21:59:50
I thought Forests managers had no say in who was signed and those decisions were all made elsewhere Ff?
Or did that only apply to the former players leader? 🤔.

04 May 2021 22:07:48
Agree with that, others should have played in the last couple of games .

04 May 2021 23:49:13
I agree completely that I am not interested in watching Hughton's brand of football. It is boring, but it is also not flexible or fluid enough for the modern game.

I don't blame Hughton for Grabnone losing interest though. That is just not professional. Grabnogoals should be moved on or the issues resolved.

He can't even score penalties. He must be on less than 50% in his Forest career.

05 May 2021 07:40:09
They didn't fred but its been made clear that hughton has the final say now so transfers will be down to him.

05 May 2021 10:23:08
T Rex chris needs to go ASAP.
If he's given another season (in my eyes he's already had one) Forest will be in league 1 this time next.
Like FF79 states all bar Garner were abysmal.
Hughton makes megson a tactical genius compared himself.
All the rubbish about how well he has performed at other clubs doesn't warrant the fact his brand of football is useless.

05 May 2021 18:22:36
So all this rubbish about his record is pure fiction? God give me strength. I’ve read some idiotic things on here but that just about takes the biscuit.

05 May 2021 18:51:47
The fact he has got more than one club promoted is not fiction but your so called fact is fiction.

He only missed four games of the term, had Forest won those four games would we have finished fourth?

A managers having his sort of CV is good at getting them a job but it does not guarantee wherever they go they will succeed.

A manager is only as good as the results he is getting at his present job, and the improvement of the team as the term goes on.

There has been no improvement in the team, and the results have on a whole been rubbish.
