Been reading were we are after Jamie Paterson as he his a free agent very soon apparently his contract runs out. Surely if he was still up to championship standard his team would surely renew is contract, there are players who would surely love to come to Forest in the lower leagues who are as good if not better then a lot of championship as beens. we must learn when a lot of these championship players are out of work, there's a good reason.

Played twenty times for Bristol City this term so either he has been injured or their manager does not rate him, either way no thank you.

Carlo i think that is disgusting, if a player is someone that has only played twenty games in a term for his club that is fine by you, but bring in a foreign player and you do not want them.
Over the years there have been some quality players come from abroad and done well in English football.
Forest have done rubbish in the last few years with the quality of foreign players but that does not mean all foreign players are rubbish.
If the club are going to bring in English players, or players that have played in England then they need to have played regularly for their club.
The club made the mistake of bringing in players that barely played for their clubs when they brought in Arter, Freeman, Colback, and so on, how has that worked out.
It is good to have players that have English football experience but they still need to have had played regularly and in form.
If the research has done right on foreign players there are good ones out there, and they need to have played regularly with good form.

Which foreign ones have worked? I’m not saying none have I’m just struggling to recall which ones, likely more my memory than anything else.

Dorus de Vries, Bryan Roy, Van Hooijdonk, and Lars Bohinen for a example but a lot of Norwich players are foreign, Wolves had some quality players from abroad.
I was talking about all clubs not just Forest.

You, ve had to go along way back there, with Carvalho top of the pile we,ve had very little success in that market ,nothing wrong with Foreign players just the one,s we,ve signed ,to me there,s some very good British players about , one that comes to my mind would br Barry Bannon who may not wish to drop a division ,he,d pull the strings for us,excellent record creating chances ,think your going over the top with your ! Like i said Carlo the nothing wrong with English players but they need to have played regularly and be in form Patterson does not fit into that scenario. So why him.?
