Red cyclist i already mentioned mckenna and worral but the ones you mention like johnson snd gabriel hsve not played at this level. Lolley is finished, calf problems are ot fixable. Arter cannot run his legs gone and is disruptive. Mb soh is a kid and rus like a rugby player, not ready yet. Mighten not quick enough to shake off defenders, ameobi is a luxury walks and runs like he is high on something, has the odd blinder. Sorry we have little to offer and that is the reason why we are so low in the table. Not entireky ALL Hughtons fault. The majority of this squad simply are not mobile or good enough.

Rutland Toney had not played at this level, he has done alright. Johnson has pace, scores, and makes assists he is worth a try. Brentford who brought Toney are supposed to be interested in Johnson as well as Leeds that must tell you something. So, Soh runs like a rugby player, Michael Johnson had a unique running style, it did not stop him being the best sprinter for his distances.

We were 7th with Ameobi in the side and Artur has been a regular in promoted sides. You might not think that youngsters like Gabriel and Johnson are not a foundation to build on - which was the point I was making - but you are wrong. Smart clubs build around the talent they don't have to spend lots of money on like Johnson, Gabriel, Mighten, Soh, Worrall etc.
Reality check Rutland. You are not allowed to spend, spend, spend beyond certain limits. Look at the mess the club is in. That makes it almost impossible to just rebuild an entire squad. Look what happened next season. You have to build on potential, or you end up out of the top division for over twenty years.
We have to build on the core players. If we don't this merry -go-round will continue! Warburton and O'Neil were right and the club were wrong. Is that not now obvious to every fan of our great club?

Oh, and what you said about Mbe soh is exactly what they used to say about one of our young players. Big guy he was. Went to play for our neighbours and went on to captain them to the Premier League title and in the Champions League. WES MORGAN!

RC i am not disagreeing on potential talent and these lads deserve a chance and quickly. I am talking about the spine of the team and base of a squad to build around. And of course i am not advocating a big spending spree, hence i started my threads on this topic by saying expecting top 6 next season is pie in the sky. With all the aquistions, and hell their have been many, we still lack a unit to blood youngsters in.
We have had youngsters leave the club who have pace like brereton and two others who i forget their names went for big money snd have done nothing, one is being released or has been by westbrom. I actually think christie has been excellen this last half of season and figs has been too. I would like them to stay, mckenna has an injury question mark hsnging over him.
Hughton might not be the answer but certainly we need a canny man at the helm to mix things up for improvement next term.

Rutland we are meant to be after a league one left sided winger called Kyle Dempsey who has scored less goals, and has less assists to his name, he is also 6years older than Johnson and will cost around £750,000, does that make sense. It would be good to have both but i doubt that will happen.

Money there are loads if arguements to this issue. One thing for sure we need new faces wherever they come from and they need to have talent in an attacking style. most of this squad is deadwood.

Just checked on Kyle Dempsey. Gillingham captain, scorer of 8 goals this season from central midfield.
