This time 32 years ago I was just climbing the Hillsborough terracing, enquiring to my mates "where's their lot". We all know the outcome, if they had closed off the middle section everyone would of gone home that day.

I was playing I a match that day. we had the radio pitch side. someone turned it right up, Peter Jones was describing those awful scenes. one guy just sat down, then another, and so on, then I did, everyone just stopped playing, and sat together in complete shock.
RIP THE 96.

A lot of things should have been learned from that. Where to throw the blame will never sadly. My heart goes to the 3 above. They say time heals all wounds. Not for me if i was a parent whos son/ daughter died of incompetence and ignorance. From the people we hope can control these situations. The media again as iv'e picked up on lately ignored peoples values and rather gain from lies/ guesses.

Bad design of a ground the warnings were there from an fa cup semi with chelsea fans getting crushed previously.
I was in the opposite end very safe terracing and had a ten year old with me.
It was the lack of not telling the crowd that there was a serious incident happening that i remember the most as initially it just looked like hooliganism but became apparant eventually when hoarding boards where being ripped down and used as stretchers.
My cousin who went with us week in and week out hasn't been to a live game since.
Sad day and very euprised that leppings lane stand still gets a safety certificate as its appallingly old and lacks facilities a real sh-t hole.

I was there too, remember asking my mate at around 2.45 where all the Liverpool fans were as we could still see the terracing of the outer “pens”, didn’t realise that they were there, just crammed into the middle 3. Only later when a stretcher came by our end with the face of the person on it covered and his arm dragging on the floor did we realise people had died. Terrible, terrible day.

You know from the Kop end it took a while to see the seriousness of the situation. Then they started using advertising boards as stretchers, with fans trying to give CPR. That brought it home, numbness and shock for everybody watching. Devastation for family and friends of 96. Hopefully never to be seen again.

It was also before mobile phones so hard to contact our loved ones to say we were safe.
Remember getting in the car to drive home listening to the radio with the news getting worst and we pulled up at the services and had to queue for a phone to say we were ok. its a ground that should never have been used for big occasions, the worst ground by far to be allowed semi finals.

Couldn't agree more mvred mate apart from one thing. Get in a FA cup semi final and kick scouse ar#e. Was gutted for clough not succeeding to the one thing he never got. and obviously for us. Without a doubt Changed the way the game was played after such a tragic event. But again as iv'e pointed out. Lives before football.

Ff79 brought it home how we take mobile phones for granted mate. Not for the internet etc. But the fact you can contact anytime now. I'm old school and wrapped my daughter in cotton wool. Her saving grace was the fact she had one to go out on winter nights etc to her friends. Hope it didn't affect the 10 yr old you were with too much. Although as said will always leave a scar.
