Just watching the Leeds game, the commentator pointed out that jack Harrison has been on loan at Leeds for 3 years, surely that's not what the loan system is all about?

It obviously suits both parties, but it is definitely a case of abuse of the loan market.

We had colback on loan for a season and a half.
Its just down to the two clubs not a greeing a fee and the cost of the players wages can't be met sometimes.
In Harrison case maybe city don't want to sell but want him playing regularly?
And leeds could not find a player in his position to sign permanent that was good enough?

Loans i thought were meant to be for a quick fix in emergency, not being able to find another player either permanent, or loan in three years makes Forest look a well run club, and that is saying something. 😁.

What they were mean't for and what the loan system has become are two different things.
We sign a minimum of 5 loans on a year deal every season and let about 5 go out or even more.
Im not a fan of loans at all as with the maximum in the team you will never build a team, just get by.

It is a abuse of the loan market, and you are right everything else. 👍.

I personally don’t think clubs in the same division should be able to exchange loan players,

Why not stevie f?

09 Feb 2021 15:55:54
That is a tricky one, a team will only loan a player to a team in the same division either to get big wages off the books, or because that player is not seen as strengthening that team.

The reason i ask is to me football is a business. A business is all about returns. If a player doesn't work for our team, get rid. Doesn't matter who to. And as we have found for ourselves the player might not even work for the loanee . especially now with no gates at lower clubs. They depend on such needs mate.

Bowiered because I think the loan system should be about the higher division clubs helping lower division clubs,

I think the loan system is a good idea it reduces the financial risk especially when your recruitment team is less then adequate.
