You have to feel for Mbe So, not had a bad game yet but always gets the boot. What kind of motivation is that for a talented youngster? Our top 3 centre backs are Worrall, McKenna, and Mbe So imo. I would put him ahead of Figuredo simply because of Figs super booby tendancies. Then we Dawson, who is never selected and Hefele on big wages who likewise is never considered. You might even put Blackett in that group, so when you tot it up it is an enormous amount of wages wasted on centre backs. If there is any truth in the Duffy rumour which I hope is nonsense, it is a ridiculous state of affairs and all the more reason to give Mbe So the recognition he deserves and get the wage bill drastically reduced. He is the type of young player the club needs now. Not the Dawsons, Hefeles, and Blacketts. We need younger fitter motivated players like him to help take the club forward. U REDS.

I agree, the idea is a player that is thought as a back up player is there to cover for a player that is either out of form, injured, banned, or on international duty.
When the back up player plays well they then keep their place until their form drops, they get injured, or get banned.
When that does not happen then as you have said where is that players motivation and as a result if they want to play they will look to leave.
If they are thought not to be good enough then why are they at the club, there should be competition for places.
