When we signed Arter from Bournemouth I thought ideal back up player for Sow and to also give competition to Yates, he was a back up player for Bournemouth and we signed him for an undisclosed fee I would have probably thought around £500k , so I thought decent signing until I read on a certain transfer site that we paid £4.95m for him! are we that stupid to waste £5m on a 30 year old, you just couldn't make it up.

I should not be surprised but i find that shocking if that is true.

No way did we pay that for him. He was in his last year of his contract, I think you’re right by saying 500k is realistic.

Surely a club should be upfront about prices for players and their salaries. It is a business after all said and done . Who for example went to see Arter play? Who made the decision to pay him whatever, 30,000 I would guess? There are so many players brought to this club who don’t seem to live up to their predictions . If SL was responsible for the 14 that came in we are better off without him . However I suspect it wasn’t and the person who is needs to be named and shamed and sacked.

I would say the Qatar one had some input into whom came in but no one in their right mind would choose for fourteen players to join in one transfer window.

Forest are not the only club to try and hide what they have spent for as long as they can.

I get the feeling Vrentzos does not go to see any targets, i think he just takes advice from some other source that the owner trusts.

I agree that Vrentzos and the other source need to be sacked.

If Arter's on a 3-year contract then I'd imagine the total deal is about £4-5m, if you include his wages over the 3-years too.

The site I saw said he's on £20k per week, that's just over a million per year, plus whatever the transfer fee was. Calling it a £4-5m deal is about right.

On the main transfer market website it states that the fee was £4.95m or 5.5m euro's not including wages.
