I did say i would be happy with a point tonight as 3 points was just fantasy land. Its awful without the crowd and its just not association football as a result. Ppl like ginger were straight on my case saying i am writing the season off in october. No the season was written off by the club and lamouchi with us losing 5 yes 5 on the bounce since the season opened. The mass influx and desperation attempt at off loading more of the same crap made us a laughing stock and as i said probably the worst team in the league. Relegation fodder not promotion candidates.
Chris Hughton has inherited a disjointed and punchless bunch and he has done wonders to reverse the trend and stem the bleeding. That has now given us a platform to build from. Talk of top six at this point is ludicrous we offer so little upfront due to the obsession by lamouchi and co's in defensive midfielders and poor defenders. This is not hughtons team yet and he will need more time to work out his most trusted eleven until he tweak it with more quality in January. I believe this is why he is desperate to get Grosiki in as a lot can happen between now and January.
Our keeper is still crap on crosses and lacks communication with the defence. As for the sending off? Poor touch from lannou and the resulting challenge in real time play was a shocker and gave the ref no option. You can annalyse these things in slow mo but it was a leg breaker and shows stupidity and inexperience which should have cost us the game. However hughton has more about him and where the football might be poor he has got the players fighting. We need to continue scrapping to get away from the drop zone first and let hughton do his best with this collection of average at best players until he can improve our attacking options in January. In Chris Hughton we trust. He is the best we could have hoped for but he is no messiah but has got a reaction in these difficult times so let's be grateful for the turn in fortune and keep the promotion talk for the day we get above halfway in the table which will be a reasoable acheivement by January.

Great post an agree, I think the last 2 games Hughton as only made 1 sub so for me he’s clearly trying to get minutes into the legs because as a team we aren’t fit enough.

It’s clear that Sabri had totally lost his way at forest, not executing an effective programme for pre season is amateur at best. I think the players were that shot he had no idea how to pick them back up.

Thing is rutland these players were bought in with no regard for who the coach was or would be.
It has been a continuous conveyor belt of 8 players or more every window since karanka came here and they have always been defensive players in the main.
I think you'll find chris will be sacked if we aren't up there challenging.
The money has gone now so don't expect any more in January.
Our problems all stem from an inpatient owner with from the chairman down,
The wrong people running things and too many of them.

Agreed 79 and that is the core of my post. My worry, again is impatience. I think the best this squad is capable of under Hughton is upper mid table and that is a sad fact. The points 2star made about the shambolic pre season under lamouchi is stark and will have a long term effect.
The back four, mainly the fullbacks need attention but i think the way hughton is already handling the midfielders like colback and freeman is having the desired effect. Getting goals then it is essential to get Grosiki on board and get a loved up Grabban sniffing around the 6 yard box. This gives me a bit more hope of avoiding a relegation scrap and keeping Chris Hughton at the helm. But 79 i am with you regarding no crowds no football but its a rock and a hard place regarding getting any money through the till.
