Wow, the love that Yates is getting now! A couple of weeks a go everybody wanted him out of the team completely! What’s changed?
I’ve always liked him, think you need that type of player in the team. Not the greatest technically but offers so much in way of energy passion effort which is the bare minimum. Something some of our players have lacked in the last 6 months.

Doubt anyone has questioned his committment or passion. Its good to see and yes it rubs off. Whether he has the required level of technical skills at this or a higher level is the big ask.

Remember John McGovern ( Yes i am old and yes i was their ) he always took the brunt of grumbles but he did the dirty job and covered miles, Grahan Souness hated him during games against the Liverpool .
I am not comparing Yates to McGovern in quality but he does that same job very much an unseen hero.
We notice him more when he makes an error which is unfair, Every manager rates him so let's give the lad more support.
I think Taylor deserves a start too.
