Just reading the commentsfrom the eve post regarding the avsilability of Henri Lansbury. Not one positive comment from readers, one even quoting he would much rather have carvallaho back. This really surprised me as Lansbury for us was a fine attack minded hard tackling midfielder. We lack quality from dead balls and he is excellent here. Scored goals from freekicks and open play. TLansbury is the type of player we need at this level. Not your transient sow's of this world, silva or semedo. I hope Hughton does not read, or is influenced by those ignorant comments. Go get him Chris. He would also bring better balance to the midfield than knockeart, thoigh both eould be even better.

Don't forget when Lansbury left, a short time later we lost Reidy, We have not been the same since.

I reckon Hughton is fully aware of Lansbury and his attributes.

So much more optimistic now with our new Manager.
Surely he'll get them playing?
I've no doubt we can challenge for top six AGAIN this year.
This league is renowned for being so unpredictable.
So no reason why we can't achieve this.
COYRS!

Just read ANOTHER brilliant Cloughie story from our own Stuart Pearce.
Arsenal were playing us at the City Ground.
Their goal keeper the "Big Pat" Jennings went to retrieve a ball behind the goals. and was hit by a dart, thrown by one of our lot.
So he just pulls it out and puts it in the goals, and told Don Howe about it in his usual casual manner.
So Don Howe tells Cloughie "your supporters are animals! Look what they threw at Pat? "
So that seemed to be the end of it. until Big Pat actually showed Pearce the actual letter. which he read "Dear Pat, I have absolutely no sympathy for you. as when you come here you stop everything that comes your way, so it's no surprise that you stopped a dart"
Lots of Love Brian.
Pearcey laughed his head off!
Just think if that happened today, they'd be rolling around tangled up in the netting like a kipper!
🤣🤣🤣.

Rutland, maybe this sums up in a nutshell what’s wrong with the club. 75% of the dross we’ve signed post Lansbury couldn’t hold a candle to him .

11 Oct 2020 12:39:42
Agreed 2star. I understood his leaving but we lost a player thst day.

11 Oct 2020 14:13:02
Lansbury hasn't really played competitive football for around 3 years I would have reservation's about signing him, just look at Colback he has been awful this season because he hasn't had game time for 18 months.

11 Oct 2020 15:08:35
Fair point, he looks nothing like the Colback we had before . As you say . Lack of game time as a real Negative outcome .

11 Oct 2020 19:54:12
Colback was always a done deal regardless of the coach.
He would have been here in jan jan window but for getting injured.
Thats what annoys me.
Idont rate him at all not even when he first came to us.
No pace passes backwards and can't tackle picking up countless yelliws on the way.
Been said on here about carvalho and three coaches left him out.
Well same at Newcastle none of their managers fancied him.
Were they all wrong?

11 Oct 2020 23:00:35
Well I can vouch you on that, you’ve moaned about him consistently and he’s living up to it now now doubt. I have to say I’ve been shocked by his performances, he doesn’t even look like a footballer at the minute . We will just have to hope he improves with game time pal.

Are you out of isolation yet?

Had four days in bed with bad back pain from my kidney area followed by a lousy headache and coughing and flemmy, missus the same but we are on the mend now.

Look after yourselves, this weather is making me feel ill!
