I asked the question earlier about the remit for the new manager and ff79 says PROMOTION or manager moves on. How can a team all but bottom of the league with zero points and only one goal scored be anything like promotion prospect. I doubt Chris Hughton would have taken the job on the basis thst its promotion this year. We do not have a team of such as yet.
We are a shambles on and off the pitch and we search for our first point of the season. I hope Chris csn bring in his own staff and be allowed a player 2 of the cwlibre he can work with. Our first objective is to get outvof the relegation zone and build a football team, that in itself is a massive job.
Any hopes of promotion this season must be put on the back burner and deal with the immediate issue of gelling and winning and alround positivity. Chris Hughton will need time and patience and the monkey is getting the first point. That is all for the moment.

I believe that if he's allowed a free reign we can easily finish in the top ten. He has a decent squad at his disposal. There's still time to get a couple of his own signings in so as to convey his ethos to the squad. There is no doubting his Championship pedigree. We're only four games in, after all. YOU REDS!

Had a bet last night at 80/1 for automatic and 40/1 for play offs. How many times have you seen teams catch up over the last 10 games? We have 40 games so anything possible. Positive in the first time for years that at last we have appointed a manager that will do the job and isn’t anything other than the right man.

Whats he been given a one year contract?
If we make the playoffs and fall at the final hurdle then he might get another chance.
Marinakis has shown how he operates and my only concern is not the chris can't take us up, but this squad lacks a bit of pace and a goalscoring midfielder, so with this squad its a tall order for him.
Im fed up with all these managerial changes and if you look have never called for Lamouchi to go.
Marinakis should have faith in the appointment and should have given chris a 3 year contract with the premier being achieved in that time.

Forest got burnt giving a two year contract to the last one then him pressing the self destruct button.
A two year contract would be a good idea with the option for a third.
If the last players leader had been given the same contract, the club would have save a years worth of pay off.

Redsketty look at the facts and what position we are in. Forget the possibilities and probabilities we are the worst team in the league by definition. Any talk of promotion is rediculous. We failed dramatically last season and have continued the nosedive this year. Avoiding the drop and getting a team is our goal end of.

Any forest fan who imagines promotion this year is in cloud cuckoo land. We are shite bottom of the league with a transient squad. And that is the problem with with the fat greek and many on here. You cannot get instant success. Appointing Hughton is not the magic bullet. Its a step in the right direction but its still a huge experiment. Their are a lot of issues to resolve before a ball is kicked. We have no 3rd man, the crowd, so people need to behave and grasp reality. I am with trentender and 2star on this one, are we going to humiliate another legend of modern day management?

I could take offence to that stevief but i wont. Also we are 5 games in. Lost 5 scored 1 goal. That is not bad luck or a sign of success. Look at the history under marinakis. Oneil won his last 3 matches a feit not acheived under karanka nor lamouchi. 25 minutes after sacking oneil lamouchi was in. The same time lapse with hughton. I am not wallowing in misery but being pragmatic and realistic. I love the fact that Hughton is our manager but fear for him under this desperate regimme. We could lose our next 3 matches as hughton finds his feet and best 11. We need to accept that this season is going to be a challenge with no crowds and a new manager and new players. We need to re-evaluate the meaning of success this season and to me its maintaining our status with improvement. And that is enough for this season.

You find that out after 46 when everyone has played everyone, not after 4games, if you took offence to my last post I would have been surprised and disappointed, but you do seem to look for the negative in any situation at the club,

Rutland will have come to that conclusion stevie as anyone who dissagres with you finds it an endless battle to get the last word and you come across as very aggressive in your posts at times

You can't argue the league doesn't lie we are rock bottom and that's what chris has to deal with.
Forget what you and many others see on papera as a good squad.
Football doesn't work like that and you know it doesn't.
