he's managed 9 different clubs in 8 years so hasn't stayed long for one reason or the other. as a player he was know for his fighting spirit. well he'd certainly need some of that if he came to forest.

This is another Portuguese export . Do I need to remind anyone on this site the problem this club has had with players from that lovely country . If you look at his managerial record how many of the clubs he has looked after would get into League 2? One of the Recent failures of the owners and advisors club is to have no knowledge of the English game and the sort of players needed to combat . Only the players recently added in the main understand the rigours of our game. The Other Overseas players signed represent a long litany of Failures from clubs they might have done well at but wouldn’t get in National league 1. I thought we had given up with Mendes recommendations apart from the 3 Portuguese amigos that nearly or could still bankrupt our club and I think SL came from his stable as well . I am not saying he was a n abject failure but his CV did not make for good recommendation again low status clubs . Look at Bielsa Argentina, Chile, A Bilbao, Marseille, Lazio Lille Leeds . This is the sort of manager we need who transforms boys into Men . The team is place to do well. The next choice if it happens will make or break our club . Please Big M get Robinson or Cooke who knows this league and would jump at the chance, ( the club is in such a mess no one of real repute - Pearson, Howe ) will come.

He does not seem to last long at any club he has been at but at Braga he managed thirty games, won eighteen, drew five, and lost seven.
At Sporting Lisbon he managed fourty two games, won twenty, drew thirteen, and lost nine.
He has ot a temper because as a player he punched his international teams manager when he was dropped.
