Can't score, can't keep them out the other end and a massive influx of new players every season due to a crazy transfer policy is always going to be a recipe for disaster.
There's an obvious problem with our style of play because if we don't score with a 25 yard screamer we just don't score.

The most common way to a goal in football is a low or high cross being put in and someone ramming it home.
It's 13 games since we scored such a goal which is crazy.

Bristol:Freeman Long range. Huddersfield, Cardiff, QPR, Barnsley (cup) all blanks. Stoke:Figs corner. Barnsley:blank. Swansea:2 Ameobi long range. Preston:Grabban Pen. Fulham:blank. Derby:Lolley long range. Bristol:Silva free kick. Yes you have to go all the way back to Huddersfield when Worrall crossed for Grabban to volley home at the back post and even that came straight after a corner.

Some good crosses went in yesterday and I fancied us putting one in but a combination of good keeping and Grabban being completely out of form put paid to that. Taylor doesn't look anywhere near the player he was at Charlton where he looked dangerous and dynamic so have we knocked those traits out of him already?
Several times yesterday he and Grabban were both on the left wing with nobody in the centre.

Struggling for a creative midfielder we've got rid of Carvalho and Silva. Regardless of whether they were good enough they still haven't been replaced. Freeman looks like a poor man's Tomlin in more ways than one.
Worrying times.

Silva asked to leave, the players leader said the truth has to be told, Silva asked to leave, any player that not focused on the plan i will not keep him here.

Thats why I've always said that it was madness when this first happened under karanka.
You have to have a coach and a dof that work together and identify the weakness in a team.
Sadly that's not what's happening.

Spot on Fred. We just don't get enough bodies in the box. We sit far too deep as a team and the midfield can't get up quick enough to support the striker. Despite all the signings we still haven't really got a box to box midfielder that chips in with goals.

City won’t find out so easy to score two goals again .
That’s the opposition game plan now, effortlessly pick off our defensive frailties, score twice with ease, sit back and put your feet up as only worldy strikes will get through . We could play for ever at the moment and not score from open play.
Let’s grab those facts again, 3 wins in 21, 3 easy wins for a range of opposition, 1 goal scored all season .
A manager with no idea how to compete in this league a weaker team than last season in spite of a plethora of new signings .

It’s not a weaker team. It’s just lamouchi tactics. He needs to go.

I think it’s a weaker team in a couple of key areas red red .

Red Fred, I like your post and I agree. I have been thinking it for a while. We only score by long shots (Ameobi, Lolley, Freeman) and how often can you score a screamer.
