I’ve been to derby a few times over the last few years on corporate events . What’s always struck me is the similarities between us . (Not surprising given the proximity ) normally a good crowd and very loud and partisan at the start, this can quickly turn to moaning and groaning and many have said create too much pressure for the players .

It would appear both clubs are struggling without what is a fantastic fan base to cheer them on. This the virus thing is naff and football isn’t football with empty grounds .

Agree3 Disagree0

Valid point 2star. While it's the same for every team Derby and us must be near the top with size of fan base in the championship and may well be a factor.
Our players probably miss the vocal support from our fantastic away fans more than in home matches when it can get quiet.
Look how Van Gerwen struggled in the Premier League Darts. Never even made the play-offs which is unheard of. A player that feeds off the crowd more than most clearly affected by the lack of one.

2star you kept your derby visits quiiet mate! 😂I was thinking the same thing about us, we’ve absolutely crumbled without crowds, I think this has had a major effect on all results in football, refs getting less crowd intimidation etc, it’s bound to have an effect, effectively there are no home and away games at the mo, zero home advantage,

Ive sat in the away end quite a few times and the corporate 2 star.
Really enjoyed it when ernshaw got the winner could not stop myself getting up which was ok as their fans all did to give him the finger.
Think if things carry on we will be playing them in league one next season.
Only wycombe and rotherham might save us.

They’re the same as us Fred, if they’re not 7-0 up after 12 minutes the Moaning starts .

I’ve had a couple of decent days out to the be fair mate, I loath then when we play them but deep down their folk are just the same as us . I personally don’t think there is a rivalry like it, I put it down to all of those crazy border towns with a blend of fans .
Ilkeston, ripley, Heanor, long Eaton, Eastwood, Alfreton etc . proper old footie towns and proper folk .

Ive crossed the border as you know 2 star.
Long Eaton is a part of Derbyshire but has a Nottingham postcode but because i was a clifton lad i always convinced myself the town was stolen😉
Great banter there though with a mix of forest and derby fans.
I do miss that side of things.
Bottom line is though.
Derby born Derby bred strong in the arm but thick in the head 🤣🤣🤣🍻🍻🍻.

Haha FF, brilliant!
That’s the odd thing isn’t Ilkeston and long Eaton both 01159 or 0602 in old money .

26 Sep 2020 22:05:15
BTW FF, we will definitely get that pint pal, sent you an email 👍.

2star is clearly a sheep spy.

27 Sep 2020 07:40:57
Lol psycho I see your point! I can’t help where I was raised and worked, I’ve always been around an equal mixture of sheep and trees . I’m forest till I die but them sheep folk are generally a good sort and like us starved of football happiness! I did laugh when I saw their result though and in typical forest fan style immediately felt at ease with our rubbish we are so long as they are worse!
