Did the reason we failed to reach the play offs and ultimately the premiership was because at the time our owner does not have the funds to finance such. How could not winning one game in the run in be so difficult . Just a thought, he is said to be wealthy but? .

Oldredsocks, ever heard of matchfixing? The odds on forest blowing it so spectacularly would have been in the 4000/ 1 camp. It needs looking at.

I'm very surprised it wasn't looked into.

I can see why you’d be suspicious but forest were never far from a bad run and milwall and sheff Weds showed how easy it was to bury forest at home . Hard to accept I know but we blew it because we weren’t ever good enough to make the playoffs . That’s not Mr hindsight talking, I felt all along we’d just miss out and frankly we didn’t play like a promotion side .

It was looked into, the owner asked the players leader what went wrong he said i have not got enough players, and not enough players with Championship experience and the owner said fair enough, you get to keep your job for now and i will sort it out. Come November we had better be in the top two or you will be out of the door, ok boss. 😆😆😆.

To right 2star in a false position all season long, never good enough, having said that we put ourselves in a great place to get in the playoffs, and blew it.

Agree 2 star nothing to do with the owner behind the scenes dealing.
We blew it because the players just froze with the pressure of expectation. We were punching above our weight most of the season and got in to play off positions through magnificent defensive efforts in a lot of games. But with the pressure so the bubble burst.
Yes massive blow but I don't think we would have got through the play offs anyway. The very same happened to Brentford though.
In some ways their melt down was worse than ours as they won 8 on bounce in the run in and got in a position where they were 2 games from auto promotion and froze, lost games and missed out. Then lost in play offs.

With the way results went all the players had to do was lose by two goals, the players got the result for Forest that should have been the hardest to get. How can you freeze when all you have to do is lose by two goals. Eight defensive players that could not stop the other team scoring four goals. They just gave up once Stoke got their second.

They just didn't have the mental strength to brush themselves down from going behind and still retrieve the situation. as has been said they just collapsed. and bottled it.
