There are some good players available on free transfers that could strengthen the squad.
I would suggest the following:-
GK - Camp (would be a good challenger to Brice)
FB - K Freeman (can player either side)
CB - Chester
CM - Colback
ST - Taylor
Add to that a couple of loan players:-
Skipp from Spurs?
Brewster from Liverpool (pinch from Swansea)?
Plus one from Portugal as usual.
Depending on what players are sold you then have a bit of money to spend on strengthening with a couple of permanents deals.
Possibly :-
L Freeman
Flint
Plus a couple of other proven championship players - not upcoming foreign players that have a higher chance of failure.
The next few weeks is going to be very interesting.

Some good shouts there mate . Ed is right the good players from prem clubs are a big outlay but in some cases are good value if it works out .
