Given C. V the market price of players has reduced. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see lots of changes this summer.
Cash, Worral and Grabban all may go for a good price. If we do sell our better players we need to make sure we properly replace them and not sign a load of foreign players ‘with potential’. I have no problem signing foreign players if they’re good enough.
With the current squad there’s plenty of dead wood to get rid of.
Meaning once they’re all gone.
5/ 6 quality players must be signed in order to have a good quality squad.

We haven’t had a solid quad for years. We’ve had a good starting 11 but not much past that. We need to make sure we have 2 players for each position that we can rely upon (back ups don’t have to be on the same level as starting players but they need to be good enough to come in for a few games when needed) . Only then will we ever see this club promoted.

I’ve no issue with any signings if they’re good . However, in the last few years total up the absurd money we’ve wasted - include all 3 Portuguese players in this - and tell me that we wouldn’t have been better off investing in Tomlin, Colback and one of the many decent strikers that have been available, follow said path and I’m quite sure we’d be promoted now. From a recruitment perspective our club is as badly run as the most badly run club and is much, much worse than in the days under pleat’s transfer panel. It’s a complete and utter joke, I can’t even be bothered to list the players that have been signed that should never have been signed, someone really needs to get a grip. Give Pearce a chance as a scout or recruitment advisor, he did ok on that space, perhaps as well as anyone ever has for years.

2star that's what i meant when i said it is THAT SIMPLE to remmedy our plight. Bringing in Diahakby typifies our policy. A player dropped from the huddersfield squad so not even playing at championship level yet deemed good enough to go straight into a promotion chasing forest eleven. We all knew the impact a tomlin had at this level yet let him go back to cardiff. He may be a difficult character but cardiff managed him well enough this season. The example of diahkaby says much of the players recruited over the last 3 years. Not playing at their clubs, not fit as a result and that mixed with the usual crocks is a lesson not learned year on year. Will it change
Anyone jumping in and mentioning money regarding tomlin then look at the crap we are paying huge wages to?

I also agree with ff79 regarding angents. How can so much dross end up at forest. It must be lazy scouting with reliance on greedy agents who know how to rinse a few bob out of hopeless cases at clubs throught Europe.

Have to agree with 2star, recruitment is not good enough. I have said it many times before I would bring Pearce in, can’t be any worse than what’s there now.

Successful clubs who are eventually are promoted do not sell the family silver the year before . Look at Leeds or even Derby. The core of our team needs to be kept together ie changing 2-3 only. Forest has a better season than the previous in part due to the team not changing much.
It is an advantage that the manager hasn’t changed for the next season as the players know him. A good player to sign for the club is one who thinks we are going somewhere an ok player is one that is looking for a final payday and is not really interested in a long term future.
The problem with foreign scouts is they don’t understand the rough and tumble required of players in the championship. For all we know this could be Carvalhio ‘s issue . Silva is perhaps another. I suspect we will have more ‘ foreign gems ‘ and journeymen sadly and our stock will not rise.
