Some excellent posts on here at the moment and some sensible comment. I'm not sure which thread to reply to so I'll just add a seperate post.

Before any decision about SL's future is made I think there needs to be a proper post mortem. Marinakis, or his representatives, need to sit down with SL and discuss this season and next.

Key points to raise with SL should be, what have you learned from your first season in the Championship, what could you have done differently, can you explain your thinking in the final few games of the season. Beyond that, what is your vision as to how you will set up Forest to play in future and what do you need (realistically ) to move the team/ squad forwards?

In other words, give him an opportunity to explain himself and his decisions regarding tactics and style of play. If he says he has no regrets and would do it all again, then I don't think he is for us. If he is contrite and admits to his failures and seems to want to adapt and improve, then I'd give him another chance.

Additionally, I'd talk to two or three senior/ key players to gauge the mood in the changing room. Whether we like it or not, player power exists, so there is little point retaining a manager if the players aren't buying into his methodology.

There are positives to take from the season as already hightighted by others on here, and people do learn, move on and improve. Just think, not that long ago people were slagging off Ben Stokes for his misdemeanors and he could have been cast aside from international cricket, but he has buckled down, learned, matured and become an amazing cricketer.

Let's hope Sabri recognises his errors and commits to getting it right next time.

Have a good closed season one and all.

Stay safe, stay alert, but most of all, STAY RED!

Thoroughly agree Loving Feeling. After all, if we d have hung on for another 2 minutes at Barnsley he’d have been hailed as a genius. Likewise all the games like Derby where we conceded needlessly in the last minutes.Uts not the managers fault if individual players are unprofessional or mentally weak when tired at the end of games where he has no realistic options on the bench available. Lamouchi has had a fair share of bad luck this season but he’s the best we’ve had since King Billy in his pomp!

Thought I would take a chance and try to change the mood - just for a short time!
Last week I had a dream: (If i can paraphrase a great man) .
We fluked promotion with an injury time goal. Scott Parker went berserk and tried to attack the ref at the end because he was celebrating with the Forest bench. The next day SL agreed a 100 million pound pot from the owner once the moneys from TV and league came in.
It was delayed! No money for new players until October! Eight first team players have left to join Wigan and Wycombe, so no team available for the opening fixture against Leicester. Sabri phones Carvalho and asks him to captain a team of U23,s and Academy boys.
Sky blow a fuse with Forest as they cannot back out of showing it live. Head in hands all round. Forest choose to go ahead with the game. and win 4-2. I had a dream. I wonder what would have happened had we.?

A Greek owner, foreign DoF and French Manager have not had the effect we wanted, and we can all see the team's weaknesses. No good owner and Manager sitting down for an earnest chat.
We have had this problem since before Nigel Doughty, and we are not going to get promotion until we have a proper Club Structure (what happened to the woman from Norwich who was Financial Director?)a proven successful Manager at this level, and a team that sets this League on fire. Most of the transfers/loans in the last two years have brought us duds. Unless we have some realism we will stay as we are.
