So far if we win our game in hand will be top of the play off teams sitting in third. Now that's decent and I'm still of the mindset that if we miss out on the playoffs just or get beat in the playoffs then it is a good platform to build on next season as long as we keep players and manager. Now of course there is no reason why with additions in January we can't do it this season. The thing is make no mistake the manager and players will know it's the owners demands that this season its promotion or nothing, if not top 2 then playoffs. As much as I would like to us build it slowly and if doesn't happen this year then go for it next year its obvious we need maybe 3 additions to our team to push for higher up the table. I'm sure Lamouchi will have an idea where he wants to add to so I've looked at it and where we can change . As has been pointed out Leeds and West Brom have some fantastic attacking midfielders and this is where we lack not enough scoring goals from those positions. So who's position in the team would he sacrificed, Silva very good player technically sound links up well but only 1 goal to his name. Ameobi crackingfreexsigning.

We,ve got to go for it in January because if we stop in the Championship it will be just as hard next season ,,always will be !

Carlo there is a fine line between going for it and it working, and going for it only to stay stuck in the Championship with even less to spend than we can now. The latter would result in some fans moaning we are missing out on players we should be able to afford that would improve us, and all because we threw too much at this season. We are not the Liverpool, Man City, or Chelsea of the Championship, i agree with what Clough is God said about promotion. Going flat out and messing the club if promotion is not for coming should not be a option.

The owners will be expecting promotion from where we are make no mistake and will bolster the squad, they aren't spending 100 million on the stadium to stay in the championship.
Karambeu has stated that forest is a bigger project than olympiakos and this season we've turned a corner in being up there and competitive for a change.

79 any business can say what their aim, but it is another putting so much cash in the pot they could be in major trouble. In the past the club have spent fairly big only to sell anyone that would fetch decent money. As you say if the hope was not to get to the Premier league the stadium would not be getting worked on but many clubs have thrown cash at the transfer windows and failed.

From the day they sacked warbo the owners are on a mission to get to the premier it's the only place they can recoup their investment.
Forget the past we had bad owners in Doughty who was as tight as they come and let players leave for nothing then a lunatic who threw money at it like confetti but had no idea how to run a club.
The Greeks have a knowledge of how football works and have the finance to back it, if they have a fault then that might be that they are slightly impatient.
Still think this is the year for us but even if it isn't we'll be close.

If you look at some of my posts i have said we could go up this season, like you said the Greeks seem to know how to run a football club, that is why i do not think the club will throw caution to the wind and go all out in January in desperation and risk the good work they have done.

No they won't they will probably bring in loans with a view to buy, but remember they got 11 million in for appiah and Osborn plus offloaded some big wages so let's see.
