A very sad day for non league football following the legal ruling on Ossett Utd following a player to player injury claim.
The club owe £135k in damages and costs following a match tackle. Standard club insurance does not cover player to player claims and is prohibitively expensive. several thousands.
The legal floodgates are now open to any match injury which means grass roots football is dead on its feet as no club will be able to afford to carry insurance. All players will have to self insure to play taking the cost of playing our national game beyond most young people.
Another example of the blame snowflake culture which creates couch potatoes
