I don’t buy into the Charlton thing . If we have aspirations to do well we need to be competing better against those sort of teams. We’d have struggled against them if it was at home on weds, exactly in the way that Millwall totally Overran us in the first game of 17/ 18. Today brings a tough challenge but another chance to show that we’re on a better road than we were. The yardstick to be the performances Karanka conjured up against the fancied teams .

I disagree 2 star - I think the only way to see improvement is consistency against all opponents, not just raising it against so called fancied or better teams. Team spirit, confidence and knowing your role will help to gel the players and that’s how we should judge not just on a few random wins or losses.

I’ve worded that badly sorry. What I meant to say was if we struggle against the fancied teams we are in worse place than we were because we’ve been struggling against the lesser teams for a while now.
I agree that there is no chance of consistency if you can’t raise your game against everyone . I blame me wife as she interrupted me mid post!
