Semedo and Bostock look good, the new keeper Samba might prove decent too. The rest sadly look out of their depth. Such a shame, with three top additions to last years squad and a proven striker we would have been challengers for promotion.
The DOF has to understand, it’s not quantity that gets you out of this league but quality.

I agree if we had bought more expensive players that could of helped though there is no guarantee, but having seen all 3 games so far I believe this squad we have now is better than last season and especially when Montanier was in charge.
We will be more competitive physically to start with and stronger in defence.
The bottom line is there are still more to get rid off in the squad which is happening bit by bit but there is still a budget to keep within. No matter how much fans bang on about 3 to 4 quality signings we are not in a position to spend 30 to 40 million.
I know we spent 14 million on one player but do you really think we could spend that kind of money on 3 to 4 players?

I rate Ameobi, even though he may not score a lot of goals, his runs at the opposition defence give our lads time for a breather and a chance to re-group. We've had much worse signings than him in recent years. Give him a chance.

I guess it's pretty difficult to tell if a manager has a good season for us or not as they never get a season.
Think I read somewhere this is out 10th season in a row starting with a new manager.
