Very decent crowd on a very damp night for a friendly game and for most the first look at how Mr Lamouchi is thinking as well as a look at the new signings.

As has been said by many on here Muric looked to be a more dominant and commanding keeper ih his area with a willingness to catch and punch high balls and a great sense of urgency to distribute the ball quickly.

I have always thought we look a more balanced side with Robinson at left back whilst Cash at right back did not look for the most part too bad but the defensive side of his game was not perhaps all there BUT it is not a natural position to him.

The centre half paring coped reasonably well with at least some understanding between the two and Muric with Watson playing just behind Samedo and Silva controlling things.

Silva in particular showed a terrier like tenacity in the midfield and chased and harried the opposition and on first showing does not appear to mind the rough and tumble of the English game and capped his evening off with a wonderful free kick which clipped the outside of the post.

Adomah looked every inch the player he is and hopefully will prove to be an important signing for us as we go on to more competitive games with Lolley on the other side having perhaps not his greatest game in a red shirt.

Grabban struggled manfully for the
most part but he would i am sure admit himself he is not the lone striker, one up front sort of player but I am sure with the departures of Soudani, Ansarifard and the demise of Murphy we must surely be in the market for one, preferably two, proven strikers if we are to make a fist of things this year.

From my point it was good to see Yacob back in the fold in what was a thouroughly enjoyable workout.

Its never easy to glean much from games such as these and to get too excited about things but that said it was a good performance against a decent Premiership side and something which can only boost confidence for the players so on to next Friday for another look at the squad and hopefully a new striker to watch because it really is a must for us.

As always.
